  • Patent number: 7922575
Abstract: A video slot game is described that increases a multiplier associated with each active pay line of the game independently of the multipliers associated with other pay lines of the game. Each line multiplier acts to multiply the winnings based on that particular line only. A multiplier for a particular line may be incremented for a current spin based on a wager outcome on that line in an immediately previous spin. A line multiplier may continue to increase as long as the player continues to win on that line. The increased line multiplier may have the side effect of acting as an incentive for a player to keep playing the game of chance, so as not to leave an unused line multiplier for another player. According to one variation, if the player does not win on a particular line, then the multiplier associated with that particular line may revert to a default level.

  • Patent number: 6379030
Abstract: An external aiming headlamp assembly including a plastic housing supported on a vehicle body in a headlamp port for universal articulation to aim the headlamp assembly and an adjustable flexible seal on the plastic housing. The flexible seal includes an outer lip bearing against the headlamp port, an inner lip flush against an outside surface of the plastic housing, and a convex web exposed in a clearance gap between headlamp port and the plastic housing. Posts on the plastic housing protrude through slots in the inner lip and include barbs which prevent dislodgment of the inner lip. The slots in an adjustable fraction of the inner lip are elongated and cooperate with the corresponding posts in guiding the adjustable fraction of the inner lip for translation through a range of positions to vary the exposure of the convex web. The edges of the elongated slots are interrupted by notches separated by flexible gates.

  • Patent number: 5354175
Abstract: A rotor hub is provided for coupling a wind turbine rotor blade and a shaft. The hub has a yoke with a body which is connected to the shaft, and extension portions which are connected to teeter bearing blocks, each of which has an aperture. The blocks are connected to a saddle which envelops the rotor blade by one or two shafts which pass through the apertures in the bearing blocks. The saddle and blade are separated by a rubber interface which provides for distribution of stress over a larger portion of the blade. Two teeter control mechanisms, which may include hydraulic pistons and springs, are connected to the rotor blade and to the yoke at extension portions. These control mechanisms provide end-of-stroke damping, braking, and stiffness based on the teeter angle and speed of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4192979
Abstract: An apparatus for blocking the transmission of echo signals in telephone communications circuits is disclosed. The apparatus employs a voice-activated switch in the transmit channel at each telephone terminal of the telephone circuit to block transmission of signals below a selectable threshold. Under all conditions where received speech signals are present at a telephone terminal, a higher threshold for the switch at that terminal is selected than would otherwise be used to block noise in the channel. This higher threshold is set above the level of the echo signals to prevent their transmission from that terminal by the switch.
