  • Patent number: 11369769
Abstract: An anesthetic administration device comprising an infusion device, which is in fluid connection with a regional anesthetic needle by means of a feed tube. The infusion device comprises one or more anesthetic flow devices capable of triggering forward flow, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle. Forward, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle is controlled by a controller that comprises one or more actuator switches. The one or more actuator switches are positioned on the device 1 such that they may be operated by hand.

  • Patent number: 11220995
Abstract: There is described a rotor for a vertical axis wind turbine comprising: first and second blades connected to one another and arranged to rotate around an axis; wherein the first and second blades are disposed 180° apart with respect to one another and are offset from the axis in a radial direction; wherein an inner edge of each blade is spaced radially inwardly from an outer edge of the opposing blade to form a pair of diametrically opposed openings which open in opposite directions; wherein each of the first and second blades comprises a first curved section and a second oppositely curved section, the first and second curved sections being separated by a point of inflection; and wherein the first and second curved sections of the first and second blades overlap one another to form a passageway between the first and second blades which extends between the openings.

  • Patent number: 11060506
Abstract: A wind turbine system including a plurality of modules, each module including a frame and at least one wind turbine, a set of first electrically conductive members, and a set of second electrically conductive members. One of the first electrically conductive members is attached to a terminal of a generator and another of the first electrically conductive members is attached to another terminal of the generator to form a collection circuit configured to collect electricity generated by the turbine. The set of second electrically conductive members are connected to adjacent modules to form a concatenated string of second electrically conductive members to form a transmission circuit. The collected electricity is fed from the collection circuit to the transmission circuit along the concatenated string. At least one of the first electrically conductive members and at least one of the second electrically conductive members form structural rails of the frame.

  • Patent number: 8986262
Abstract: A sampling connector for use in sampling a body fluid such as arterial blood or cerebrospinal fluid. The sampling connector comprises at least two apertures in fluid communication via a fluid flow conduit and a one-way valve (14) disposed to allow fluid flow from the first aperture, through the fluid flow conduit and out of the second aperture, but not to allow fluid to flow into the second aperture and through the fluid flow conduit to the first aperture. In use, the sampling connector is connected to a body cavity to enable the sampling of a body fluid by withdrawal of the body fluid through the first aperture, and to prevent the introduction of a separate fluid to the body cavity. The first aperture can be within a male end and the second aperture can be within a female end or vice versa. A sampling device comprising a sampling connector according to the present invention and use of the sampling connector and/or sampling device is also claimed.

  • Patent number: 6375987
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition with modified release of active principle comprising at least one active principle, a lipid matrix agent composed of ester of alcohol with at least one fatty acid and at least one adjuvant. This process is characterized in that: a powder composed of at least one component selected in the group comprising the active principle and the adjuvant, is mixed, while heating and fluidizing, in order to obtain individual grains; the said lipid matrix agent is liquefied separately under warm conditions; the said powder is then coated under warm conditions by spraying the said lipid matrix agent over the individual grains; finally, the temperature of the combined product is lowered in order to allow the lipid matrix agent to solidify.
