  • Publication number: 20230355804
Abstract: In certain aspects, the disclosure relates to a virus engineered to comprise one or more polynucleotides that promote thanotransmission by a target cell. Thanotransmission is communication between cells that is a result of activation of a cell turnover pathway in a target cell, which signals a responding cell to undergo a biological response. Methods of promoting thanotransmission by a target cell, methods of promoting an immune response in a subject, and methods of treating cancer in a subject are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220325287
Abstract: In certain aspects, the disclosure relates to a nucleic acid molecule encoding two or more different thanotransmission polypeptides. Thanotransmission is communication between cells that is a result of activation of a cell turnover pathway in a target cell, which signals a responding cell to undergo a biological response. Vectors (e.g., engineered viruses, plasmids and transposons), cells and pharmaceutical compositions comprising one or more nucleic acid molecules encoding two or more thanotransmision polypeptides are also disclosed. Methods of promoting thanotransmission by a target cell, methods of promoting an immune response in a subject, and methods of treating cancer in a subject are further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8757374
Abstract: A computer holder has a protective case and a conformable backing which is attached to the case. The case holds the computer, and the backing can be formed as a soft membrane or as an accordion-like bellows. The backing is preferably made of a sewn fabric, leather and other similar soft materials, and may alternatively be made of injection molded silicone. The space within the backing can be selectively filled with small filling materials, a low viscosity fluid or a gas such as air. A two way valve, cap or handle can be attached to the backing to allow for a variation of the backing's fill level and shape. The holder can also have a strap attached to the case and a pocket formed in the backing.

  • Publication number: 20090006164
Abstract: A method is provided for optimizing workplace engagement for a plurality of employees performing a plurality of tasks. The method may include receiving productivity data for each of the plurality of employees relative to each of the plurality of tasks and receiving forecasted demands for each of the plurality of tasks. The method may also include assigning one or more of the plurality of employees to one or more of the plurality of tasks. The employee task assignments may be based upon productivity data, availability data, and the forecasted demands. The method may further include determining that the forecasted demand for one of the plurality of tasks for the period of time falls below a predetermined threshold, and assigning an inexperienced employee to that one of the plurality of tasks.

  • Publication number: 20090007231
Abstract: A method is provided for providing access to data relating to a plurality of processes associated with a supply chain network. The method may include identifying a user from a plurality of users. The method may also include identifying data from a plurality of data, wherein the identified data includes a subset of the plurality of data. The method may further include providing the user with access to the identified data. Providing the user with access to the identified data may include defining a user profile by establishing at least one permission associated with the identified data. The established permission may allow the user to access the identified data, and the user profile may be based on one of employee characteristics, work assignments, or geographical locations.

  • Patent number: 6435641
Abstract: An embodiment of a media movement apparatus is used to detect an edge of a unit of media in a media path in an inkjet printer using an optical sensor. When the inkjet printer is operating in a mode in which units of media are continuously moved into the media path, a mechanical sensor will not reliably allow detection of the leading edge of a unit of media. Determining the location of the leading edge of the unit of media is done to correctly place an image on the unit of the media. After ejecting the previous unit of the media into an output tray, the current unit of the media is moved backward in the media path while measuring the output of an optical sensor. If the edge is detected while moving backward, the current unit of the media is moved to the input side of a print zone. If the edge is not detected and the optical sensor indicates the presence of media, a media jam is indicated.
