Abstract: Methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, are described for generating an index of functional performance associated with software development. A server computing device receives software development performance data associated with a company, the software development performance data distributed among a plurality of categories and corresponding to a first period of time. The server computing device determines a current score for each of the plurality of categories based upon the software development performance data associated with the category. The server computing device aggregates the current scores for each of the plurality of categories to generate a current index score for the company for the first period of time. The server computing device compares the current index score to index scores for the company corresponding to prior periods of time to determine a change in index score over time.
