  • Patent number: 9394617
Abstract: Disclosed are quaternary ammonium carbonates, bicarbonates, and mixtures thereof as anti-corrosive agents. The invention relates to a method for inhibiting the corrosion of metal surfaces by applying a composition containing one or more quaternary ammonium carbonate or bicarbonate. The disclosure is also directed to anti-corrosive coating for metal substrates containing these compounds, to metal substrates having these anticorrosive coatings, and to aqueous cleaning solutions containing these compounds.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9220272
Abstract: Disclosed is an antimicrobial composition containing an active halogen-containing component having a source of an active halogen and having an elevated pH, which is mixed with an acidic component. An acidic component is added in an amount to the active halogen-containing component to reduce the pH of the antimicrobial composition. When the pH of the active halogen-containing composition is reduced, the resulting composition has been discovered to be effective as a disinfectant and, particularly, as a sporicide. Application methods for applying the composition are also described.

  • Patent number: 9034943
Abstract: The invention provides a method for preventing discoloration of pyrithione-containing materials, in particular plastic materials or other material such as paints, coatings, adhesives or textiles which are exposed to an outdoor environment. The method is likewise suited for preventing discoloration of other pyrithione-containing materials such as personal care compositions like shampoos. A discoloration inhibitor that includes dehydroacetic acid or a salt thereof is added to the pyrithione-containing material. The discoloration is prevented without the addition of a cyclic organic phosphoric acid ester or an organic phosphite. Use of the discoloration inhibitor does not interfere with the antimicrobial effect of the pyrithione.
