  • Patent number: 10514830
Abstract: Virtual bookmarks can be set in digital content to enable a user to quickly locate a portion of interest. A user can provide an input to enter into an overview mode wherein multiple pages of content are displayed concurrently. The user can navigate through the pages, and when a bookmarked page is caused to no longer appear on the display an overlay element such as a thumbnail of the page can be positioned near the edge of the display, representing the current relative location of the page in the overview. A user can select one of the displayed pages to view, or can select the bookmark overlay element to return to the current page. A user can perform an action to cause the bookmarked page to be updated, or can perform various actions to cause multiple bookmarks to be created with respect to the content.

  • Publication number: 20190377834
Abstract: A method of modifying a CAD system model performed on a data processing system includes receiving a dataset of co-ordinates representing an article in 2d, or in 3d and receiving 2d or 3d constraints respectively, to be applied to any changes to the dataset of co-ordinates for the article. A modification to be applied to the dataset is received and combined with the relevant 2d and 3d constraints to produce a constrained modification for each of the article and associated article. The constrained modification is solved in 2d and in 3d to determine whether a solution exists in which all constraints are met. If the solve is successful, the constrained modification is applied to each dataset simultaneously and, updated datasets are stored. If the solve fails, the constraints may be reduced and the solve step repeated, or the process is terminated.

  • Patent number: 10474330
Abstract: Some implementations include identifying conflicts between multiple layers of supplementary content associated with a digital work (e.g., an electronic book). For individual conflicts between layers of supplementary content at one or more locations within the digital work, conflicts between layers may be resolved in favor of a higher priority layer. Upon resolution of the conflict, information associated with the higher priority layer for supplementing content at a particular location in the digital work may be determined. A visual identifier of the higher priority layer may be displayed along with content associated with the digital work at the particular location.

  • Publication number: 20190322557
Abstract: A floating dispenser having an external float or an internal float for supporting a cartridge or cartridges for floatingly delivering a dispersant or dispersants to a body of water with the floating dispenser having cartridges rotationally positionable with respect to one another to control the rate of dispensing while the dispenser floats in an upright condition with the floating dispenser changing its flotation orientation in response to consumption of the dispersant or dispersants in the a cartridge to thereby provide a visual alert to replace a spent cartridge with a fresh cartridge. In addition, the inventions described herein permit changing the dispensing nature of the system from a multiple dispensing system to a single dispensing system without changing the floating characteristics of the floating dispensers through replacement of a dispersant in one of the cartridges with an inert or ballast material that has no effect on the water characteristics.

  • Patent number: 10393915
Abstract: The present specification discloses methods for inspecting an object. The method includes scanning an object in a two-step process. In the primary scan, a truck or cargo container (container) is completely scanned with a fan beam radiation, the transmitted radiation is measured with an array of detectors, and the transmission information and optionally the fission signatures are analyzed to determine the presence of high-density, high-Z and fissionable materials. If the container alarms in one or more areas, the areas are subjected to a secondary scan. This is done by precisely repositioning the container to the location of the suspect areas, adjusting the scanning system to focus on the suspect areas, performing a stationary irradiation of the areas, and analyzing the measured feature signatures to clear or confirm the presence of SNM.

  • Patent number: 10360312
Abstract: Methods for identifying geometric clones in a modelling system, or simulating modifications to construction of a multi-part product and corresponding data processing systems and computer readable media. A method includes choosing a template of a geometric form and generating and storing a map of the template, identifying a candidate geometric form in the system and exploring the identified candidate geometric form from a start point until returning to the start point or reaching a branch. The method includes generating a map of the explored candidate geometric form, comparing the map of the explored candidate geometric form with the map of the template and labelling the candidate geometric form as a clone if it matches a predetermined portion of the template.

  • Publication number: 20190178900
Abstract: With the present invention, metabolomics biomarkers are used to identify subtypes within the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) population. In one embodiment, levels of the metabolite 3-carboxy-4-methyl-5-propyl-2-furanpropanoic acid (CMPF) of about six times or greater than the median level in typically developing (TD) individuals or about 2 ?M or greater place the individual in an autism subpopulation that includes less than 20% of the total ASD population. Thus, CMPF is a biomarker able to discriminate a subtype of ASD.

  • Patent number: 10319116
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for dynamic color adjustment of electronic content. In one embodiment, a system may determine a first background color corresponding to a color theme for use in presentation of electronic content, the color theme further specifying a first text color for displaying text. The system may convert the first text color to hue-saturation-value (HSV) color space, and modify a brightness component of the first text color to generate a second text color. The system may determine a first contrast ratio between the second text color and the first background color, and determine that the first contrast ratio satisfies a first threshold contrast ratio. The system may display the electronic content using the first background color, the electronic content including text having the second text color.

  • Patent number: 10294862
Abstract: A turbine engine casing flow-path segment that is locally diffusing, followed by a flow-path segment contracting in the vicinity of a fan blade. This contraction accelerates the fluid flow axially forward of the fan blade leading edge at the tip and converges with the linear flow-path aft of the fan blade leading edge but forward of the fan blade trailing edge. More diffused fluid flow results in increased flow capacity of the fan, and increased fan efficiency.
