  • Publication number: 20020194136
Abstract: The present disclosure creates an efficient process, from both a regulatory and tax perspective, for individuals to hedge employee stock options. First, the present disclosure provides that no margin is required for a listed call option written on an equity security when the account holds a “long” position in a vested employee stock option which can be immediately exercised without restriction (not including the payment of money) to purchase an equal or greater quantity of the security underlying the listed option provided that the vested employee stock option does not expire before the short listed call option, and provided that the amount (if any) by which the exercise price of the vested employee stock option exceeds the exercise price of the short listed call option is held in or deposited to the account.

  • Patent number: 5298907
Abstract: A vehicle antenna for a cellular telephone has a balanced-unbalanced (BALUN) transformer that is connected to the telephone and is coupled to a horizontally polarized antenna on the interior of the vehicle and to a vertically polarized antenna that is located on the exterior of the vehicle. The vertically polarized component of a received signal is combined with the horizontally polarized component of the same signal in the transformer element and is applied to the cellular telephone. Signals to be transmitted are applied to the the transformer element and are divided into two portions, one of which is applied to the vertically polarized antenna and the other of which is applied to the horizontally polarized antenna. Because signals from a remote cellular transmitter cell arrive with both a vertical and a horizontal component, the antenna of the present invention retrieves the horizontal component which would otherwise be lost and combines it with the vertical component for more reliable signal reception.

  • Patent number: 4146077
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for forming hollow superalloy ingots by melting a molten superalloy electrode by ESR techniques into a molten slag held in a generally cylindrical mold having an axially movable mandrel until the molten metal is adjacent the level of but not over the top of the mandrel, cooling the metal sufficiently to form supporting external and internal walls, moving the mandrel vertically relative to the cooled metal, continuing to melt metal into said slag while moving the mandrel at a rate such that the molten metal remains at a substantially constant level adjacent the top of the mandrel and cooling the formed hollow ingot.

  • Patent number: 4129464
Abstract: A process and an alloy are provided for producing high strength material having good ductility to provide a high strength, corrosion resistant alloy including the steps of (1) preparing a body of material having a composition consisting essentially of by weight, about 13% to 18% chromium, about 13% to 18% molybdenum, less than 0.01% carbon, less than about 6% iron, less than about 1.25% cobalt, less than about 4% tungsten, less than 0.5% aluminum, less than 1% manganese, less than 0.5% silicon, and the balance nickel with usual transient metals and impurities in ordinary amounts, and (2) thereafter aging said body at a temperature in the range about 900.degree. and 1100.degree. F to effect an A.sub.2 B ordering reaction in the composition.

  • Patent number: 4111721
Abstract: Continuous strip cast aluminum alloy of relatively high manganese content which is size-reduced suitably thin for conversion into cans and like fabrications is given an anti-galling character for such severe metal working conditions as drawing and ironing in can making and in equivalently difficult operations by heat treatment of the strip product prior to its final cold reduction pass at temperatures in the 900.degree. F. + range for at least about 4 hours.
