  • Publication number: 20240115418
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for removing heat from subcutaneously disposed lipid-rich cells are disclosed. In selected embodiments, suction and/or heat removal sources are coupled to an applicator. The applicator includes a flexible portion and a rigid portion. The rigid portion includes a thermally conductive plate and a frame coupling the thermally conductive plate and the flexible portion. An interior cavity of the applicator is in fluid communication with the suction source, and the frame maintains contiguous engagement between the heat removal source and the thermally conductive plate.

  • Publication number: 20200191533
Abstract: A portable target stand system includes a pair of legs, wherein each leg has a body with a front edge and a receiver slot positionally alignable with each other. The system also includes a member having a plate that has a pair of leg slots that slidably receives one of the leg bodies. Each receiver slot slidably receives the member and a cross lap joint is formed between each leg slot and a corresponding one of the receiver slots provided by each leg. The member may consist of a torso target member, a swinger target member, a paper adapter member, or a dummy adapter member.

  • Patent number: 5310816
Abstract: An oxidized halogenated polymer is prepared by a process comprising (a) forming an admixture of an acidic oxidizing agent and a suspension of a particulate halogenated polymer in a polar liquid; (b) heating the admixture to a temperature sufficient to initiate the reaction between the polymer and the oxidizing agent; and (c) continuing the reaction until an oxidized polymer having a preselected extent of oxidation is obtained. At least one addition polymerizable compound is, optionally, grafted to the oxidized halogenated polymer. The oxidized halogenated polymer and graft copolymers thereof have physical properties different from the halogenated polymer and graft copolymers thereof. Certain graft copolymers are non-caking or free flowing.

  • Patent number: 4397957
Abstract: A method for determining the concentration of carbonate salts in solutions containing other inorganic salts. The method includes converting the carbonate salts to carbon dioxide by acidifying the sample, sweeping the acidified solution with an inert gas to strip the carbon dioxide from the solution and contacting an ion-selective gas-sensing electrode with the gas stream. The electrode includes a buffered solution which changes in pH depending on the concentration of carbon dioxide in the gas stream thereby providing a measure of the carbonate salt concentration in the sample.
