  • Patent number: 4782949
Abstract: A storage module for magnetic tape cassettes and cassette boxes of various dimensions comprises a plurality of parallel storage compartments, each having a bottom and side walls. The side walls have a horizontal, divided, lower support surface defining two parallel storage zones per compartment for unboxed cassettes and horizontal, upper support surfaces for supporting a boxed cassette. A digital audio tape cassette fits firmly into the bottom of each compartment between the lower support surfaces.

Date of Patent: November 8, 1988
    Assignee: Berkman Industries, Inc.
    Inventor: Joseph L. Berkman
  • Patent number: 4518084
Abstract: A case having at least one row and a plurality of tandem compartments for interchangeably receiving and storing either a single boxed cassette or two unboxed cassettes in any compartment. The case has opposite side walls connected by means of a bottom wall, with the compartments disposed parallel and transverse to the opposite side walls; each compartment comprising a pair of projections separating and dividing the said compartment into storage zones on both sides of said projections. The opposite side walls define pairs of vertical ribs for guiding and securely retaining a single boxed cassette in place atop said projections, and further define vertical end stops adjacent said ribs for limiting transverse movement of unboxed cassettes stored and securely retained between said projections and opposite guides projecting inwardly from said side walls.

Date of Patent: May 21, 1985
    Assignee: Berkman Industries, Inc.
    Inventor: Joseph L. Berkman
  • Patent number: 4440458
Abstract: This invention relates generally to storage devices, and more particularly to a holder having a plurality of tandem storage compartments or bins each of which can securely hold and store many differently-sized audio/video cassettes, TV game and computer cartridges, and video film cartridges, as well as their enclosures, sleeves or storage cases.

  • Patent number: 4117931
Abstract: A case in the nature of a storage device with or without a cover or a valise or attache-type case comprising parallel rows of magnetic tape enclosure storage compartments. Each compartment is molded to form a somewhat thicker and narrower space to securely receive a standard 8-track cartridge and, within a substantially coextensive space, a somewhat thinner and wider space to securely receive a standard cassette storage box so that both types of commonly used magnetic tape enclosures may be interchangeably received and stored within the compartment without excessive movements and dislocations within the case during transit. In one embodiment, the cover is transparent and may be adapted to be removable and, in another embodiment, the cover is integrally molded with the case.
