  • Patent number: 6579192
Abstract: An educational golf facility is provided in accordance with the present invention. The facility includes a target chipping zone, at least one inclined chipping/putting lane and a putting zone. The chipping/putting facility includes an extended surface having a striking area in front of which a student may swing a golf club and strike a golf ball. The facility further includes an inclined surface extending from the striking area. The inclined surface has long strand oriented such that balls struck up the inclined surface are caught and returned to the student; The striking area which includes an enclosure protecting students in the vicinity of the striking area. The enclosure includes a forward horizontal bar and a rear horizontal bar, wherein the forward horizontal bar is positioned to control the permissible back swing of a student utilizing the chipping/putting facility and the rear horizontal bar provides a safety area.

  • Patent number: 5152534
Abstract: A system for practicing putting strokes is provided. More particularly, a putter is provided which has a slot defined in the heel end portion of the putter head and which is adapted to be used with a putter guide having an upstanding fin. Sliding engagement of the slot and a correspondingly shaped fin maintains the putter head square with respect to the stroke direction and prevents a rotary movement of the putter head in a vertical plane. Use of the slotted putter and correspondingly shaped guide will train the golfer's muscles to the particular control and force required for a square putting stroke and for putting a particular distance on the green.

  • Patent number: 5150904
Abstract: A system for practicing putting strokes is provided which in one form is a golf club assembly including a golf club head with a stabilizer portion provided at its heel end, used in combination with a planar guide surface to practice putting strokes. The stabilizer portion has a planar outer surface which is at all times perpendicular to the forward face of the putter and is fixed with respect to the remainder of the golf club head so as to control the orientation of the putter when the stabilizer portion is slid along the planer guide surface. Thus, the putter stabilizer maintains the putter face square with respect to the guide surface and stroke direction. The use of the putter stabilizer together with a putting aid having a planar surface will train the golfer's muscles to the particular control and force required for a square putting stroke and for putting a particular distance on the green.

  • Patent number: 5125665
Abstract: A system for practicing putting stokes is provided and which in one form is a putter stabilizer for attachment to a putter and which is used in combination with a planer guide surface to practice putting strokes. The putter stabilizer maintains the longitudinal axis of the putter head substantially perpendicular to the stroke direction to insure that the ball will roll in the direction desired. The use of the putter stabilizer together with a planer putting aid as described will train the golfer's muscles to the particular control and force required for a square putting stroke and for putting a particular distance on the green. In another form, a putter guide system is provided which includes a putter which has a slot defined in the putter head or a putter which has a stabilizer with a slot attached to the putter head and which can be used with a putter guide having an upstanding fin.

  • Patent number: 5072943
Abstract: A system for practicing putting strokes is provided and which in one form is a putter stabilizer including perpendicularly related planar portions for detachable attachment to a putter and which is used in combination with a planar guide surface to practice putting strokes. The putter stabilizer maintains the longitudinal axis of the putter head substantially perpendicular to the stroke direction to insure that the ball will roll in the direction desired. The use of the putter stabilizer together with a planar putting aid as described will train the golfer's muscles to the particular control and force required for a square putting stroke and for putting a particular distance on the green. • Patent number: 5024442
Abstract: An elongated putting training aid including lengthwise adjacent and coextensive guide surfaces on its opposite sides defining, respectively, a vertical putter guide surface and an inclined putter guide surface. The vertical putter guide surface enables the golfer to practice straight putting by aligning the vertical surface with a target hole or cup. The inclined surface is utilized for practicing in to in putting wherein the club is drawn in and up on the back swing and in and up on the follow through. The putting aid can be secured to the putting green by inserting tees through suitably disposed apertures in each longitudinal end thereof. In the alternative, the putting aid can be secured to carpeting with a hook-type material provided on the bottom surface thereof.
