  • Publication number: 20110017395
Abstract: The composite resin tile system is essentially an inner sleeve formed from tiles that is applied to the inner walls of a Flue Gas Desulfurization scrubber/absorber system that forms part of an emission system in a plant that generates corrosive gases as a by-product of its process (such as a power plant), in order to provide chemical corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance. In a preferred embodiment, the novel corrosion and abrasion resistant material is formed from either vinyl ester resin or epoxy resin (about 60% to about 75% by weight) and aluminum oxide (about 25% to about 40% by weight). The instant material may be formed into interlocking tiles that are applied to the inner surfaces of Flue Gas Desulfurization components. This tile system is particularly useful in areas within the scrubber/absorber system where aqueous reagents and liquid waste are contained, transported, or used in the scrubbing/absorbing process.

  • Publication number: 20100206456
Abstract: The composite material and block system is essentially an inner sleeve that is applied to the inner walls of an emissions system in a power plant, or any other plant that generates corrosive gases as a by-product of its process, in order to provide chemical corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and insulation. In a preferred embodiment, the novel abrasion resistant material is formed from vinyl ester resin (about 10% to about 40% by weight), coal slag (about 30% to about 70% by weight), and fly ash (about 5% to about 30% by weight).

  • Publication number: 20100112885
Abstract: A high performance liner for power or other plant emissions systems comprises a layer of blown fiber (preferably glass) and resin forming a flock coat, which is partially and temporarily adhered to the inner faces of the ductwork, and is then overlaid with a series of woven fiber strips that are coated and impregnated with an acid corrosion resistant resin, such as vinyl ester. This lining may be applied throughout the inner faces of the ductwork, and provides corrosion resistance and increased structural integrity to the ductwork. The lining essentially forms a fitted sleeve within the ductwork, which, in its final form, is not reliant on the structural integrity of the original ductwork or adhesion to the original structure of the ductwork in order to function.

  • Patent number: 7039602
Abstract: A default selection to be presented to a user at configuration time is determined at the time a selection list is presented to the user. A desired function, such as profit maximization or price minimization, is applied against each of the available selections. The selection which thus meets the function's criteria is designated as the default selection, and presented to the user as such. The user may, of course, select any item on the list, but accepting the default selection will tend to maximize desirability of the final product in accordance with the criteria defined by the manufacturer. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, the criteria to be used in choosing default selections may itself be defined at run-time, so that different default selections will be presented to, for example, different users.
