  • Publication number: 20220230146
Abstract: A method for a secure check of an electronic ticket, in which the electronic ticket is stored on a first mobile terminal device allocated to an end consumer, and the ticket is checked using a second terminal device allocated to a ticket inspector or to a control system, wherein the method the following steps: sending a request message from the second terminal device to the first terminal device via a first communication channel; sending a response message from the first terminal device to the second terminal device via a second communication channel, the response message being signed by the first terminal device, and the second communication channel; verifying the signed response message by the second terminal device; and confirming the authenticity of the response message by the second terminal device, if the second terminal device was previously able to verify the authenticity of the signature.

  • Publication number: 20160143344
Abstract: The presently disclosed devices and methods allow for preserving and restoring crispiness to snack food by placing a specific type of desiccant device in the original packaging of the food item and then closing up the package and securing the closure, even if not completely airtight. In some embodiments it may be desirable to position the desiccant away from direct contact with the food item. Prior to deployment, the individual desiccant device or pod can be activated by removing a moisture barrier strip or, alternatively, removing the device from an airtight individual package. One possible embodiment is to use magnetic material to enable the desiccant device to be held in place above the level of the product within a package by a magnetic material outside of the package.

  • Patent number: 8522443
Abstract: A cutting tool comprises a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge movable into engagement with one another. The first cutting edge comprises an edge tip extending along at least a portion of the cutting edge. The edge tip has a geometry that lowers the cutting force required to cut hard articles and minimizes damage to the cutting edge. The edge tip has a flat end face defining a first edge and a second edge. A first side face extends from the first edge and a second side face extends from the second edge where the first side face and the second side face extend at an angle relative to one another such that the first side face and the second side face diverge as they extend away from the flat end face.

  • Publication number: 20120055031
Abstract: A cutting tool comprises a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge where the cutting edges are movable into engagement with one another. At least one of the cutting edges comprises an edge tip extending along at least a portion of the cutting edge. The edge tip has a curved outer surface that in cross-section is bounded by a first line defined by the equation y=74x2 where x is within the range ?0.023 inches?x?0.023 inches and a second line defined by the equation y=294x2 where x is within the range ?0.012 inches?x?0.012 inches. The outer surface may also be within a range defined by predetermined coordinates.

  • Publication number: 20110258860
Abstract: A cutting tool and method comprises a first lever having a first jaw at one end. A second lever is connected to the first lever at a first pivot where the second lever has a second jaw that is opposed to the first jaw. A third lever is connected to the first lever at a second pivot and connected to the second lever at a third pivot such that relative movement of the third lever relative to the first lever between an open position and a closed position defines a stroke of the tool that corresponds to movement of the hand contact points on the levers toward one another. The third pivot comprises a pin engaging a cam surface where the cam surface has a shape such that the mechanical advantage may increase and decrease through the stroke of the tool and may be variable through the stroke of the jaws.

  • Publication number: 20060261065
Abstract: A storage container has a base with a bottom panel and an upstanding side wall extending generally upward from a perimeter of the bottom panel. The side wall has a top end and a top opening is generally circumscribed by the top end. A reversible lid has a lid perimeter and a cover panel generally within the lid perimeter. The cover panel has a first side and a second side. The reversible lid can be installed on the base in two different selectable orientations including a first orientation with the second cover panel side facing the base and a second orientation with the first cover panel side facing the base. A first seal is created between the reversible lid and the base in the first orientation and a second seal is created between the reversible lid and the base in the second orientation.

  • Publication number: 20050069371
Abstract: A normally handheld instrument adapted to be removably affixed to the hand of a user is provided. The instrument includes an instrument body, a utensil such as a writing utensil within the body and a retainer attached to the instrument body. The retainer allows the instrument to be removably affixed to a part of the user's hand. When so affixed, the instrument is positionable in at least two positions: a first resting position in which the user's fingertips are available for normal fingertip activities and a second normal use position for normal use of the instrument and its utensil.
