Abstract: Apparatus for precisely locating a distal end of a Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) including a cardiac monitor having a display screen and a first electrical input and a second electrical input. A first electrical lead wire has a first end electrically connected to the first electrical input of the cardiac monitor, and a second end to be electrically connected to a left side of a patient's body. A stylet is included having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein a second electrical lead wire having a first end is electrically connected to the second electrical input of the cardiac monitor, and a second end on the second electrical lead wire, and a first Quickly Attached/Quickly Released (QA/QR) electrical connector is attached to the second end of the second electrical lead wire. The first QA/QR electrical connector is electrically connected directly to the proximal end of the stylet. The first QA/QR electrical connector preferably is a hook clip.
