The foil bearing includes a top foil. The foil bearing is a foil gas bearing that is backed up by a ball bearing, or a mesh foil bearing with an actuator to compress a wire mesh dampener. A heat transfer circuit includes a compressor and a working fluid. The compressor includes a shaft that is rotated to compress the working fluid, and a foil bearing for supporting the shaft as it rotates.

The controller monitors an unwound length of the linear material based on sensed rotation of the spool member by one or more sensors. The controller causes the electric motor to wind the linear material around the spool member, for example, upon detection of a pulling force on the linear material over a pull distance within a predetermined range, but, for example, does not trigger the winding of the linear material if the pull distance is greater than the predetermined range. The controller can cause the electric motor to stop winding of the linear material upon detection of a force on the linear material that holds the linear material in place.

The magnetic repulsive force between the plurality of inner one-way shielded magnets and the plurality of outer one-way shielded magnets causes a continuous rotational motion of the outer core unit around the inner core unit thereby rotating the frictionless wind turbine without wind.

    Abstract: A frictionless wind turbine utilizing a plurality of magnetic levitation bearings for magnetic levitation is disclosed. The frictionless wind turbine comprises a housing, a plurality of turbine blades, a rigid shaft, a plurality of magnetic levitation bearings, at least one compression bearing, a plurality of stationary electrical coiled segments and a plurality of magnet segments. The magnetic levitation bearings are arranged in magnetic communication with each other to create a magnetic repulsive force for magnetic levitation. The magnetic levitation bearings and the compression bearing freely rotate around the rigid shaft. The magnetic repulsive force and a twisting motion of the turbine blades cause a rotational motion of the magnet segments, thereby inducing electrical energy in the stationary electrical coiled segments. The electrical energy, induced by means of magnetic induction, is then transferred to wires in the rigid shaft.
