  • Publication number: 20090283541
Abstract: The presently disclosed system comprises a pouch to house a pumpable product, a pouch fitment that can be associated with a pump, and an enclosing carton for containing the pouch and fitment. In some embodiments, the system can further comprise a pump operatively connected to the pouch and carton to dispense the pouch contents. The pouch is advantageously configured within the carton in an U-shaped arrangement, allowing the controlled dispensing of a pumpable product.

  • Patent number: 7435659
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a semiconductor device having an alignment feature. The method for manufacturing the semiconductor device, among other steps, may include implanting an n-type dopant into a substrate thereby forming an implanted region and an unimplanted region in the substrate. The method may further include oxidizing the substrate using a wet oxidation process, the wet oxidation process and n-type dopant causing a ratio of oxidation of the implanted region to the unimplanted region to be 2:1 or greater, and then removing the oxidized portions of the substrate thereby leaving an alignment feature proximate the implanted region.

  • Patent number: 6296886
Abstract: A process for removing creases from a film eliminates a problem in the quality of the heat seal for a patch bag having at least a segment of one or more bag side edges (or the bag bottom edge) covered by one or more patches. The film creases are removed by inflating the film tubing which is later converted to a bag, heating regions containing the creases with a heating means to a temperature which, in combination with the pressure within the inflated tubing, causes the creases to relax. The heated crease-containing regions are then cooled and the inflated tubing is deflated and wound up in a new configuration in which at least one patch covers at least one side edge or the bottom edge.

  • Patent number: 6214392
Abstract: A packaged product comprises a packaging article and a product surrounded by the packaging article. The packaging article comprises a flexible packaging film. The packaging article has a seal along one edge thereof, the seal comprising two seals each having a gap therein, i.e., a vent, which allows air within the package to escape during stacking of the bags on, for example, a pallet. The vents also allow air to reenter the bag so that the bags maintain a uniform appearance for display and sale. The vents are offset from one another, to provide a tortuous path into and out of the packaging article, to minimize the escape of the product and the entry of foreign objects.
