    Abstract: The apparatus relates to safety belts having a flexible support member forming the body of the belt and an electroluminescent flexible strip extending substantially the length of the belt and exposed to one side of the belt which is activated by means of a power supply connected to the electroluminescent flexible strip. This safety belt has low power requirements whereby the user can wear the belt under low light conditions for extended periods of time and be assured of adequate visible recognition.
