  • Patent number: 12225981
Abstract: An article of footwear includes a strap system having a medial strap, a lateral strap, and a heel strap. The medial strap extends from a proximal end to a distal end selectively attachable to the upper at the lateral side. The lateral strap extends from a proximal end to a distal end selectively attachable to the upper at the medial side. The heel strap has a proximal portion fixed at the heel region and a distal portion selectively attachable to the upper by a heel strap fastener. The strap fastener is operable to attach one of the distal end of the medial strap and the distal end of the lateral strap to the heel strap.

  • Patent number: 12207569
Abstract: In a general aspect, an integrated quantum circuit includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a first surface and a recess formed in the first substrate along the first surface. The recess has a recess surface and is configured to enclose a quantum circuit element. The first substrate includes a first electrically-conductive layer disposed on the first surface and covering at least a portion of the recess surface. The first electrically-conductive layer includes a first superconducting material. The second substrate includes a second surface and a quantum circuit element. The second substrate includes a second electrically-conductive layer on the second surface that includes a second superconducting material. The first substrate is adjacent the second substrate to enclose the quantum circuit device within the recess. The first electrically-conductive layer of the first substrate is electrically-coupled to the second electrically-coupled layer of the second substrate.

  • Patent number: 12196981
Abstract: A liquid lens can include a cavity, a first liquid disposed within the cavity, and a second liquid disposed within the cavity. A focus of the liquid lens can be adjustable by adjusting a shape of a variable interface defined by the first liquid and the second liquid. Upon adjusting the focus of the liquid lens in a periodic oscillation with a peak-to-valley amplitude of 20 diopter and a frequency of 2 Hz, a root mean square (RMS) wavefront error (WFE) of the liquid lens measured at 1 ms intervals can remain at 100 nm or less throughout one complete cycle of the periodic oscillation.

  • Patent number: 12055704
Abstract: A selective optical shutter can include a first window, a second window, and a cavity disposed between the first window and the second window. A filter can be disposed in an optical path of the optical shutter, whereby the filter blocks of one of ultraviolet (UV) light or infrared (IR) light and passes each of visible light and the other of UV light or IR light. A first liquid and a second liquid can be disposed within the cavity. The first liquid and the second liquid can be substantially immiscible with each other, whereby a liquid interface is formed between the first liquid and the second liquid. The liquid interface can be adjustable by electrowetting to selectively pass visible light or the other of UV light or IR light.

  • Patent number: 11019885
Abstract: Presented are systems, methods, and devices for manufacturing articles of footwear using sacrificial straps to secure segments of the footwear to a manufacturing fixture. A method for manufacturing an article of footwear, such as an athletic shoe, includes providing first and second segments of the footwear's upper, such as the vamp and heel counter. A sacrificial strap is removably attached at opposing ends thereof to the first segment, e.g., proximate a read edge of the vamp. The first segment is placed on a manufacturing fixture, such as a foot-shaped last, and securely attached to the fixture by positioning the sacrificial strap around and against the fixture. The second segment of the upper is attached, e.g., via stitching or bonding, to the first segment. Once attached, the upper is removed from the manufacturing fixture, and the sacrificial strap is cut, torn or otherwise permanently disconnected from the footwear.

  • Patent number: 10880482
Abstract: A camera module includes an image sensor, a lens assembly, and a mechanical actuator. The lens assembly is positioned to focus an image on the image sensor and includes a variable focus lens. The mechanical actuator causes relative translation between the lens assembly and the image sensor in each of an X-direction parallel to a first lateral axis and a Y-direction parallel to a second lateral axis. The first lateral axis is substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the lens assembly, and the second lateral axis substantially perpendicular to each of the optical axis and the first lateral axis. The lens assembly is fixed relative to the image sensor in each of a first rotational direction about the first lateral axis and a second rotational direction about the second lateral axis.
