  • Publication number: 20070275345
Abstract: A dental tray having a body, at least two finger rest beams and a handle. The body has a predetermined shape and a plurality of body openings. The predetermined shape of the body accommodates the anatomical shape of the patient's mouth and receives the entire jaw and gingiva areas. The plurality of body openings positioned in the body to allow the impression materials to vent through the body openings to obtain the impression and to retain the impression materials onto the body. The handle is received on the body and has a predetermined configuration to facilitate ease of use and elimination of lip pressure. Each finger rest beams are received longitudinally on the bottom of the body. The combination of the handle and each finger rest beams are ergonomically designed to allow optimal stabilization pressure be exerted by the operator to the dental tray and impression material.

  • Publication number: 20070231774
Abstract: A device for obtaining dental measurements to determine a patient's occlusal vertical dimension and centric relation position where these dental measurements are used to make dentures for the patient; and for obtaining dental measurements for balancing a patient's dentures and methods for making these dental measurements with the device. The device comprises a contact plate, a post, a ball nut, and a striking plate, where the combination of the contact plate being attached to the central lingual surface of the lower base plate, the ball nut being swivelably attached in a tapered opening in the contact plate, the post being adjustably secured to the ball nut; and the striking plate being attached to the central lingual surface of the upper base plate, are received in the mouth of the patient such that they cooperate with each other to obtain dental measurements including, but not limited to, occlusal vertical dimension, centric relation position, or measurements for balancing a patient's dentures.

  • Publication number: 20070148612
Abstract: A dental impression tray used in cooperation with at least one impression material for obtaining an impression of a jaw, teeth and gingiva area in an oral cavity of a dentate or dental prosthesis patient and a method of use thereof. The dental impression tray comprises a body, a plurality of body openings, and a means of insertion and removal of the dental impression tray. The body is formed by an outer support section, a channel section and a central support section. The means for insertion and removal of the dental impression tray generally comprises a shelf section, a border and a handle section. The shelf section is attached to the body of the dental impression tray and serves to displace the pressure exerted upon the shelf section uniformly along the shelf section and onto the body. The border provides more surface area to improve retention of the impression material on the dental impression tray and to reduce the pressure against the jaw, teeth and gingiva areas.

  • Publication number: 20050112523
Abstract: A method of custom molding occlusal surfaces of dentures and the surfaces thus produced. Special teeth are used for the lower posterior teeth on the mandibular plate of dentures and a central bearing device is attached to the dentures. Each special tooth has a central receptacle used initially for holding an insert for positioning the dentures while the central bearing device is adjusted and then as a container to hold moldable resin when the insert is removed. The central receptacle holds the resin as it is molded by the opposing teeth moving through all possible eccentric positions, with the central bearing device preventing the teeth from closing too far. The resin is then cured and trimmed and the dentures are clinically fit to the patient before the central bearing device is removed from the dentures.
