  • Publication number: 20250040981
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to an electrosurgical surgical tip that includes a conductive and low-profile cutting surface to provide high current density radiofrequency energy with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissues. For example, an electrosurgical tip of the present disclosure may include a ring of conductive material sputter-coated around a distal opening of a non-conductive base component and a strip of conductive material sputter-coated along a longitudinal axis of the non-conductive base component.

  • Publication number: 20250010029
Abstract: A medical device may comprise a tube including: a proximal portion; and a distal portion having a slotted section with a plurality of slots formed therein. A proximalmost slot of the plurality of slots may have a first length in a circumferential direction about the tube. A distalmost slot of the plurality of slots may have a second length in the circumferential direction about the tube. The first length may be smaller than the second length. The medical device may further comprise a hub coupled to a proximal portion of the tube. Rotation of the hub may be configured to rotate the proximal portion of the tube about a longitudinal axis of the proximal portion of the tube.

  • Publication number: 20210145417
Abstract: A device includes a hollow needle with a lumen extending therethrough. The needle is sized and shaped to extend through an endoscopic shaft to a target tissue within a living body. The needle has a distal end with a sharpened distal tip for puncturing the target tissue and removing a portion of the tissue in the lumen. The device further includes a cylindrical stylet having a shaft sized and shaped to extend through the lumen of the needle and a distal end with a pointed distal tip for puncturing the target tissue. When the stylet is extended, the pointed distal tip of the stylet extends distally a predetermined distance past the sharpened distal tip of the needle.

  • Patent number: 4032761
Abstract: Computerized axial tomographic apparatus provides sets of "edge readings" which relate to the absorption suffered by penetrative radiation on traversing respective paths through a part of interest in a body, the various paths being coplanar. These edge readings are processed to permit the evaluation of the absorption coefficients at a plurality of locations distributed over the part of the body in the irradiated plane. In accordance with the invention the necessity for such processing to involve large scale multiplication is overcome by employing a processing technique which utilizes Walsh functions.

  • Patent number: 4002917
Abstract: Radiological apparatus is described for producing a representation of the variation of absorption coefficient with position over at least one planar slice taken cross-sectionally through a body under examination. The source of radiation comprises an X-ray tube having a target with an extended dimension in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the aforementioned planar slice, and means is provided for scanning the electron beam of the tube along the extended dimension of the target so as to scan the X-radiation relative to the body in said direction.
