  • Patent number: 10528145
Abstract: Systems, methods, computer readable media and articles of manufacture consistent with innovations herein are directed to gesture based user interaction, user interface and/or other features. According to one illustrative implementation, for example, an illustrative operating system may comprise an input program using images from one or more cameras to analyze and interpret user gestures, may (in some implementations) involve an operating system based on Linux kernel with access to local disks and files, and/or may include or involve a graphical user interface outputting the cursor corresponding to user gestures and providing a uniquely designed interaction between the gestures and content. Additional aspects for interacting with other/multiple devices are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080047664
Abstract: An improved double-sided adhesive tape has an elongate carrier strip, with a length and width defining a pair of opposing planar faces that are separated by a thickness that is substantially smaller than either the length or width, a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to each of the opposing faces along the length, and a release liner strip in removable registration atop one of the adhesive layers. The improvement in the tape is provided by a loop formed between the release liner strip and the adhesive layer upon which it is in registration, the loop defined by bending a length of the release liner out of registration with the adhesive layer before resuming the registration. A method and machine for manufacturing the improvement structure are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070116741
Abstract: A biomedical device surface, such as a contact lens surface, is covalently linked to a cationic copolymer. The copolymer may include monomeric units derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing a quaternary ammonium moiety and monomeric units derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing a moiety reactive with complementary reactive functionalities at the lens surface. The copolymer may be covalently linked directly to the lens surface, or covalently linked with an intermediate polymer reactive with both the lens surface and the copolymer.

  • Publication number: 20070116740
Abstract: A biomedical device, such as a contact lens, has a surface linked to a polymer comprising boronic acid moieties. The boronic acid monomeric units may be derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing a boronic acid moiety, such as a vinylphenyl boronic acid or a (meth)acrylamido phenyl boronic acid. The boronic acid moieties may be complexed with mucin, especially epithelial mucin.

  • Publication number: 20070048349
Abstract: A surface-modified medical device comprises a hydrophilic coating that comprises units of a hydrophilic monomer and a coupling agent that has coupling functional groups, at least a portion of which is coupled to the surface functional groups of the medical device. A method for producing such a surface-modified medical device comprises forming the hydrophilic coating by coupling units of the hydrophilic monomer to the medical device through the coupling agent. Medical devices, such as stents, implants, catheters, and ophthalmic devices, are included.

  • Publication number: 20060114409
Abstract: A lens with a colored portion is composed of a lens-forming polymer having a front lens surface and a back lens surface. A colorant is applied to at least one of these surfaces, and these surfaces may be coated with a coating layer composed of a material different than the lens-forming polymer. In the case of a cosmetic contact lens, the colorant may be applied in an annular ring pattern corresponding to an iris, so that the colorant pattern masks and changes the apparent color of the natural iris when the contact lens is worn.
