Abstract: A mechanical door closer (10) that includes a spring (20) mounted in a track (13) to urge the door (11) to a closed position. A brake assembly (24) controls that rate at which the door (11) closes. The brake assembly (24) includes a brake hub (25) that has ramp slots (32) that receive balls (33) that engage a braking shell (34) to cause the braking assembly (24) to frictionally engage the track (13) to thereby control movement of the door (11).

Abstract: A opening and closing mechanism for a door or a window including a stationary primary track, a movable secondary track, an operating member with one end pivotally fixed in the primary track and an opposite end movable along the secondary track, and a guide engageable with a guide surface of the operating member. The guide surface is curved along at least a portion of a length thereof such that a tangent to the guide surface at a point where the guide surface crosses a longitudinal center line of the primary track forms an acute angle with the center line. The acute angle is substantially constant throughout the range of pivotal movement of the operating member.

Abstract: An applicator to apply a label (11) to an object such as a container (12). Each label (11) is applied by a label applicator (68). More particularly, the apparatus (10) is adapted to apply labels (11) irrespective of whether the container (12) is of circular or non-circular configuration. The container (12) is mounted on a holding plate (23) which is caused to rotate so that the peripheral speed of the container (12) is substantially constant.
