  • Publication number: 20070129848
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for the overall handling of removable controls for an electrical device including the installation and removal of controls from a base or other housing portion of the overall device, e.g. an overhead switch utilized in electrical power distribution/transmission. The arrangement includes facilities for selectively securing or releasing the controls with respect to cooperating housing portions of the device. An operating member is provided with provisions for cooperating with the controls for securing and releasing the control with respect to the operating member. In a preferred arrangement, the controls have separate control functions.

  • Publication number: 20070109694
Abstract: A circuit or fault interrupting and disconnect device includes a tripping apparatus that ensures a vacuum interrupter of the device is opened upon initiation of a change of state of an associated disconnect blade assembly. The disconnect blade assembly may have an open state and a closed state. A drive mechanism couples to the blade assembly to move the blade assembly to its various states. The drive mechanism couples to the interrupter trip assembly to provide for opening of the contacts of the vacuum interrupter prior to the blade assembly making or breaking contact.

  • Publication number: 20070103326
Abstract: A multi-mode control indicator is provided for use with an electrical device. The multi-mode control indicator 20 provides multiple status indications via respective display modes (display patterns), e.g. steady “on” state, flashing, off, or various other patterns of differing intensities. In a preferred arrangement, the device is controlled via a wireless communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20060219665
Abstract: A control arrangement is provided for an array of circuit interrupters that includes mounting and handling features to transport the array of circuit interrupters between various operating positions within the enclosure. In a specific arrangement, the control arrangement also provides for transporting of the array of circuit interrupters to a position to the exterior of the enclosure. In a specific arrangement, the circuit interrupters are modular and removable from the array. In a preferred arrangement, viewing facilities are provided to observe the array of circuit interrupters to verify the operating positions of the circuit interrupters, specifically, the disconnected and grounded positions. Additionally, a grounded position internal to the enclosure avoids the necessity of manually attaching grounds. In a preferred arrangement, detection of the operational states of the circuit interrupters is also provided in the various positions.

  • Publication number: 20060219154
Abstract: An operation indicator is provided to indicate the open/closed status of device, e.g. a circuit interrupter operable between open and closed operating positions. The operation indicator includes two indicator members having cooperating interleaved or interlaced construction such that a relative small operating stroke of the operable device results in relatively larger open and closed symbol and indicating surfaces.
