  • Patent number: 10418855
Abstract: An apparatus for receiving wireless power is provided. The apparatus a communication circuit configured to transmit a first indication of a first wireless charging category associated with the apparatus. The communication circuit is further configured to receive an indication of a wireless charging class of a power transmit unit (PTU). The communication circuit is further configured to transmit a second indication of a second wireless charging category associated with the apparatus based on the wireless charging class of the PTU being compatible with a higher wireless charging category than the first wireless charging category. The apparatus further comprises a coupler configured to receive a level of wireless power corresponding to the second wireless charging category. The higher wireless charging category indicates an ability to receive a greater amount of wireless power than the first wireless charging category.

  • Patent number: 9784777
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for precisely measuring AC power and detecting load impedance using a precise analog front-end, zero-crossing detectors, and a phase detection system capable of extracting precise phase information from the sensed voltage and current measurements. More particularly, the invention provides an apparatus, comprising a transmit circuit configured to generate a wireless field via an antenna for transferring charging power to a receiver device, for determining a phase difference between a first signal and a second signal. The apparatus further comprises a phase detection circuit to output a phase signal indicating a duration of a phase offset between a time-varying voltage and a time-varying current of the transmit circuit. The apparatus further comprises a capacitor configured to receive a variable current from a current source for the duration of the phase offset between the time-varying voltage and a time-varying current.

  • Publication number: 20130100012
Abstract: A display mode, including an update rate and/or resolution of an electronic display device, is dynamically adjusted by computing a change rate metric (CRM) representative of an image change rate, and adjusting, based on the CRM, at least one of the update rate and the image resolution. The display device may be switched between at least two display modes, based on the CRM, which may be computed by comparing each pixel row in a first frame with a corresponding pixel row in a comparison frame, and determining a number of pixel rows that have changed. A cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value for each pixel row may be computed, and the CRM may then be computed by determining a number of pixel rows that have a changed CRC value with respect to a corresponding pixel row of the comparison frame.
