  • Patent number: 11966497
Abstract: A portable communication device, method, and system enable temporary access to private user information by a venue communication system. The temporary access to the private information is based on a registration that includes user selectable privacy thresholds and predetermined venue conditions. The temporary access by the venue communication system can be adjusted and limited by the portable communication device. The usage of the private data by the venue communication system may be limited to anonymous analytics and/or extended to non-anonymous analytics and notifications based on user input to the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20240127688
Abstract: Techniques for detecting and tracking a status of an object relevant to an incident are provided. A virtual partner associated with a first responder detects at least one object that is relevant to an incident to which the responder is responding. The virtual partner requests that a smart building controller track a status of the at least one object. It is determined that the at least one object is currently needed. An indication is received from the smart building controller when the at least one object is currently needed, indicating the status of the at least one object.

  • Publication number: 20230343443
Abstract: Systems described herein can use microphones and cameras to capture media data (e.g., audio data and video data) at the scene of an emergency, apply specific types of software to the media data to extract medical data for a patient and a digital biometric identifier of the patient, associate the medical data with the digital biometric identifier in a data structure, and transmit the medical data, the digital biometric identifier, and the data structure to a treatment facility. The systems described herein can accomplish these tasks without involving responders' hands, thereby allowing responders' hands to be used for treating patients, driving ambulances, and performing other lifesaving tasks without interruption. When a person arrives at the treatment facility, a second digital biometric identifier can be captured and compared to the digital biometric identifier to confirm that the person is the patient to whom the medical data applies.

  • Patent number: 11682394
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a device when a user does not answer a call is provided herein. During operation a wake word for the device is identified as a user's call sign (a combination of identifying letters, letters and numbers, or words assigned to an officer for use in communication (as in the address of a message sent by radio). The call sign does not comprise a sender or receiver's actual name. When a device detects the wake word as an over-the-air transmission, the device will determine if a user answered the call. If not, sensor data will be provided to the caller and a digital assistant will periodically remind the user of the unanswered call.

  • Patent number: 10785609
Abstract: A method and talkgroup server for extending a battery life in a subscriber unit is provided. A time sync at a triple TSBK boundary is maintained, the triple TSBK boundary being associated with a talkgroup. The triple TSBK window is calculated based on the time sync and configuration data. A talkgroup call request is granted for the talkgroup using a talkgroup call grant. A first transmission of the talkgroup call grant is targeted in the triple TSBK window associated with the talkgroup.

  • Patent number: 10318139
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for external accessory knob using a motion tracking device are disclosed. A portable electronic device may include a housing including a processor coupled to a memory and a motion tracking device. The external accessory knob may be mounted to the housing and may comprise a position holding mechanism. The motion tracking device may be operable to detect perturbation in at least one feedback parameter perturbed by movement of the external accessory knob. The movement may overcome opposition by the position holding mechanism. The processor may receive and compare the perturbed feedback parameter to a motion profile defined by data stored in the memory to identify a characteristic of the movement of the external accessory knob by matching the perturbed feedback parameter with at least one portion of the stored data defining the motion profile associated with known perturbations.

  • Publication number: 20060250213
Abstract: Biometric data can be read by a biometric sensor attached to a wireless communication device, remote control, or reconfigurable apparatus. The biometric data is run through a pattern recognition program to extract a set of essential biometric features that are used to identify a user. A set of configuration settings corresponding the user is retrieved and used to configure the wireless communication device or reconfigurable apparatus. The biometric data can be transmitted by the wireless communication device to a controller or by the remote control to the reconfigurable device in order to off load the pattern recognition function. Configuration settings can be transmitted from the remote control based on identification of the user by biometric data. Configuration settings can also be sent to the wireless communication device based on identification of the user.

  • Publication number: 20050237193
Abstract: One or more RFID tags (104) are integrated into a fire hose (102) to facilitate an individual's exit from a structure. A portable interrogator (106) worn by the individual interrogates the closest RFID tag (104). Each RFID tag (104) has location information stored therein which gets decoded upon interrogation by the portable interrogator (106). The RFID location information assists the individual in locating the hose (102) and following the hose towards its source point (110) and out of the structure.

  • Publication number: 20050037794
Abstract: A communication system (100) includes a dispatch console (102) communicating with a plurality of subscriber units (104). Each subscriber unit (104) has a unit ID associated therewith. The dispatch console (102) automatically logs (206) the unit ID of each subscriber unit (104) that responds to an incident broadcast and forms a talkgroup (208) of the logged unit IDs for future incident broadcasts. Thus, the user can change talkgroups and/or channels without missing future incident broadcasts.
