  • Publication number: 20130195726
Abstract: An apparatus for processing of material, the apparatus comprising: a compartment for accommodating said material during processing, said compartment having at least one wall, an inlet for receiving the material to be processed and an outlet for material once processed to exit the compartment; and a radiation source for directing electromagnetic radiation into the compartment through a portion of the compartment wall that is at least partially transparent to the radiation, the radiation being microwave or radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation; wherein the apparatus is configured to place at least some of the material in the compartment in contact with the at least partially transparent portion of the compartment wall through which the radiation is admitted to the compartment.

  • Patent number: 8124868
Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film photovoltaic module that has a protective substrate, such as glass, that has been contoured to define a space that allows air to avoid entrapment by a bus bar on the thin film photovoltaic device. The contouring of the protective substrate greatly facilitates the deairing and lamination of the module because it reduces or eliminates the amount of trapped air during lamination. Photovoltaic modules of the present invention can be processed with a minimum of waste caused by deairing and related lamination problems.

  • Publication number: 20100065105
Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film photovoltaic module that has a protective substrate, such as glass, that has been contoured to define a space that overlies a bus bar on the thin film photovoltaic device. The contouring of the protective substrate greatly facilitates the deairing and lamination of the module because it reduces or eliminates the amount of trapped air and the degree to which the underlying polymeric material is forced to flow during lamination. Photovoltaic modules of the present invention can be processed with a minimum of waste caused by deairing and related lamination problems.

  • Publication number: 20080041277
Abstract: Fluoride-containing hydraulic cements, raw mixtures for producing fluoride-containing hydraulic cements and methods of producing the same are provided. The raw mixture comprises a fluoride source, a calcium oxide source and a silicon oxide. The fluoride source may be a fluoride-containing industrial waste, such as spent pot lining, corresponding to a fluoride content of between 0.1 wt % and 15 wt % within the raw mixture. The ratio of producible calcium oxide to silicon oxide within the raw mixture may be at least about 2:1 and the ratio of producible calcium oxide to the sum of silicon oxide and aluminum oxide within the raw mixture may be at least about 1.5:1.

  • Publication number: 20070162862
Abstract: A subject user may selectively monitor one or more other users in an online environment. In one embodiment, a subject user may access a directory of available online users that are located within a particular predefined portion of the online environment. The order of the available online users in the directory may be based on at least one of the subject user's preferences and profile data. The subject user may then select a subset of the available online users from this directory. The subject user may receive periodically-updated information regarding the selected subset of available online users. In one embodiment, this may include information on the selected user(s) location, profile, status and/or actions.

  • Publication number: 20070156664
Abstract: A subject user may be automatically matched to one or more other users in an online resource-limited environment. In one embodiment, a multi-user online environment is accessed using a resource-limited device operated by the subject user. A pool of candidates from the available online users may then be generated based on their proximity in the online environment to the subject user. The various candidates within this pool may then be ranked based on a comparison of user profile matching criteria. Candidates may then be selectively added to the subject user's interaction group, which in one embodiment represents the set of online users which will be “seen” or otherwise available to the subject user for possible interaction.

  • Patent number: 5903471
Abstract: A slack time, based on a required and actual delay time, is calculated for each node in a circuit (302). For each element in the circuit, a sensitivity (304) and a figure of merit (306) is calculated. A variance is determined for the calculated figure of merits (308). The circuit element having the smallest absolute figure or merit is optimized when the variance is smaller than a predefined threshold (310, 312).
