  • Patent number: 9095969
Abstract: A method for releasing a trailer from a tractor is disclosed. A fifth wheel yanker moves a fifth wheel release handle in the sequence needed to operate the release handle in the sequence used by, for example, the Yost brand of fifth wheel Jost fifth wheel safety catch release mechanisms. A yanker hook on a yanker shaft is hooked to a release handle of the fifth wheel, then twisted counterclockwise to press a yanker lever against the tractor frame to move the release handle upward and leftward onto a fifth wheel shelf. The yanker is then pulled outward, releasing a trailer from the fifth wheel. Reaching deep under the trailer is avoided, and biomechanical strain is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4852662
Abstract: An impacting mechanism for impacting a surface. An impacting mechanism having plungers spaced apart and adjacent allows fractured pieces to fly away and has a latch assembly that puts side loads on the plungers. An impacting mechanism having an impact plunger disposed in generally centered relation within a tubular actuator shields the impact to contain fractured pieces and provides a plurality of latch assemblies to equalize loading. The impacting mechanism breaks composite material into a plurality of pieces.

  • Patent number: 4437236
Abstract: Process for locating solder on a precalculated position on an electrical terminal. Metal strip stock coated with a thin layer of solder is fed through a strip guide for precisely positioning the metal strip stock between a pair of rollers. A solder wire is cold bonded to the metal strip stock and the strip stock is subsequently stamped into a terminal.
