  • Publication number: 20110065456
Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a wireless device that is capable of linking to a vehicle via a close range antenna, such as a Bluetooth antenna. Once the wireless device is linked to the vehicle it can receive location data and determine the speed of the wireless device. If the speed exceeds a predefined threshold the wireless device may have its wireless communications deactivated. If the wireless device is utilizing a hands free device wireless communications may be permitted. The use of the link to the vehicle ensures that the wireless device will not be deactivated when, for example, it is used on a train. In addition, waiting to gather location data and determine speed until when the wireless device is associated with a vehicle will save battery life. The wireless device may have a speed determination scheme that takes into account GPS multipath.

  • Publication number: 20090215387
Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a narrow beam jammer to generate jamming signals for the regional cellular frequency ranges for use in vehicles. The narrow beam is directed at the location of the driver so that jamming and detection of communications is limited thereto. The initiation of the jammer may also be based on other parameters such as vehicle speed and Bluetooth synchronization. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 7123874
Abstract: the invention shows a jamming device having a transmitting system that outputs a signal frequency modulated that inhibits a low power receiving antenna from receiving a fixed frequency such as a cellular telephone. The jamming device can function as a stand alone device or be incorporated into existing electrical systems whereby energizing said electrical system will cause said jammer to inhibit the use of low power radio transmission/reception devices such as cellular phones.

  • Patent number: 6276080
Abstract: An improved auto emergency warning marker, designed to be hung on an automobile side window, is made of molded plastic and includes a reflective base member and two reflective side members which fold to a compact storage configuration when not in use, but which interlock to make a highly visible triangle. Integrally molded with the base member are a hook positioned proximate one end of the base member, which hook curves outward away from the base member to fit over the top of an automobile side window which has been cranked partially open and a pad holder with attached resilient pad positioned near the center of the base member which contacts the window exterior to support the marker thereon. The improved warning marker will remain solidly anchored on an automobile side window, once positioned there, even in the face of gusting wind conditions.
