  • Patent number: 6341770
Abstract: A cutting board combination for use with a double basin sink having a sink divider separating the two basins. The cutting board combination includes a first cutting board that has a flat upper cutting surface and a pair of spaced apart legs fixed to the bottom surface. The legs are spaced apart to straddle the sink divider with the cutting board base supported on it with lateral edges overlapping the sink basins on either side. The cutting board combination includes a second cutting board that can be connected at an inner lateral edge to a lateral edge of the first cutting board. The second cutting board is connected to the first in such a fashion that the work surfaces of the two are coplanar. The inner lateral edge of the second cutting board is supported by the first cutting board. The second cutting board has a length sufficient so that it spans the sink basin with the outer lateral edge supported on the sink rim.

  • Patent number: 5992907
Abstract: A position control mechanism for a double/single-hung window, including retractable plungers mountable on opposite sides of a window sash and received in a track on the frame to support the window sash for movement. An elongated member is secured at opposite ends to the plungers. A tilt latch actuator is mountable to the window sash between the plungers for pivoting about an axis, and includes a shaft with an opening therein oriented substantially radially relative to the axis and receiving the elongated member when secured to the first window sash. The ends of the shaft opening are substantially equal radial distances from the axis, and the elongated member is substantially linearly oriented when secured to the plungers with the plungers received in the one track. Guide openings defined by a bushing concentric with the axis are spaced from the shaft at substantially equal distances on opposite radial sides of the axis.

  • Patent number: 5901499
Abstract: A locking assembly for a double-hung window assembly having a pair of vertical jamb liners, including a shoe slidable in a channel in one liner and operably connected to a sash for sliding movement therewith. A first locking member is rotatably connected to the first shoe, and manually operable means is pivotably connected to the shoe and operatively engageable with the first locking member for effectuating pivoting movement of the first locking member between (a) a limiting position wherein the first locking member engages one side wall of the one slide channel and (b) a releasing position wherein the first locking member is disengaged from the side wall of the slide channel. The first locking member including at least one tooth which engages and grips the side wall of the slide channel with the first locking member in the limiting position. A detent releasably maintains the first locking member in at least one of the limiting position and the releasing position.

  • Patent number: 5778602
Abstract: A lockable window, and a manual control for a lockable window. The window includes a window sash having a first locking member and a window frame having a second locking member mounted thereon for movement between a locked position cooperating with the first locking member for locking the sash to the frame when closed against the frame and an unlocked position clear of the first locking member to allow movement of the sash relative to the frame. The frame also has an opening therein for allowing access to the second locking member from an interior side of the frame. The lock control has a housing including an enclosure open on one side with a flange around the open one side, the housing being mounted with its enclosure substantially in the frame opening and its flange on the interior side of the frame. A handle is pivotally secured in the housing enclosure and includes an opening at one end.

  • Patent number: 5741031
Abstract: A window lock actuator including a link assembly rotatably mounted on the window jamb, the link assembly operably securable to control movement of a cam into and out of engagement with a keeper for locking a sash to a window jamb. A handle is detachably secured to the link assembly for rotation therewith, and has two legs cradling the link assembly when the handle is secured thereto. Two tabs on the link assembly and two recesses on opposite inner surfaces of the legs engage when the handle is secured to the link assembly. An escutcheon has a spring secured on one side, which spring is biased outwardly against one side of a jamb cavity to frictionally secure the escutcheon in the cavity.
