  • Patent number: 5640931
Abstract: A pet toy product with activatable scent is provided which includes sheet-like material that has applied to it a scent producing element. The scent is activatable and controllable in terms of intensity and duration. The sheet material may be formed into a desired shape, and a desired image may be applied to the sheet material as well. The pet toy product may be used by itself for stimulation of an animal or may be used in conjunction with a pet toy to enhance its effectiveness upon an animal.

  • Patent number: 5485807
Abstract: A hand-held brush is provided for grooming. The brush comprises a body section and a head section connected therebetween. The body section includes two opposing half curved portions and a base portion. The head section includes two opposing half oval portions, first and second protruding ears, and a crown portion connecting the ears. The closed figure achieved by the combination of these elements results in the outline of any number of different types of animals. Attached to a bottom side of the brush are a plurality of cone shaped bristles. The brush is flexible such that the body and head sections flex independently and continuously along the surface of the animal being brushed. The bristles also substantially conform to the surface being brushed and are made of the same material as the body and head sections.

  • Patent number: 5358503
Abstract: An apparatus, for simultaneous or selective treatment of an area of the skin and adjacent subcutaneous structure of a patient utilizing photo energy and therapeutic heat, which includes a plurality of juxtaposed diodes. Each diode has a longitudinal axis and is capable of projecting a non-coherent cone of light which overlaps the cone of light from each juxtaposed diode so that the light completely covers the treatment area. A flexible pad or appliance holds the diodes in juxtaposed position with each other. Each is held in contact with the skin and has a longitudinal axis which is in substantially perpendicular relationship to the skin. A resistor heats each diode, which acts as a heat sink, so that the treatment area of the skin and the adjacent subcutaneous structure of the mammal receive light and thermal treatment simultaneously. An adjustable control varies the light intensity of the diodes and the amount of heat generated by the resistor in a selected and controlled manner.

  • Patent number: 4802444
Abstract: Disclosed is a dental hygienic pet toy for dental prophylaxis on the teeth of a dog or other carnivore as the toy is chewed by the carnivore. The toy includes an elastomeric body having an outer surface and at least one groove which opens onto the outer surface. The groove is sized and configured so that a functional prophylaxis lip will scrape plaque and other debris from a tooth and gingiva of a carnivore which is repeatedly inserted into and at least partially withdrawn from the groove as the toy is chewed by the carnivore. An oral hygiene substance may be provided along the lip to enhance the benefit to the teeth and gingiva.
