  • Patent number: 6286837
Abstract: A set of piston rod packing rings for use in each of the packing cups of a gas compressor is disclosed. The packing ring set includes segmented first and second rings constructed of a material such as plastic, nylon, Teflon or bronze. The segments of the first ring have a plurality of opposing ends, each of which plurality preferably forms a radial cut butt joint. The segments of the second ring also have a plurality of opposing ends, each of which plurality preferably forms a butt/tangent joint. The second ring is disposed next to and on a low pressure side of the first ring as measured during a compressor piston rod compression stroke. The packing ring set also includes a third uncut ring constructed of a compressible, non-metallic material and a fourth uncut, anti-extrusion ring constructed of a relatively less compressible material than the third ring such as cast iron, bronze or hard plastic.

  • Patent number: 5941622
Abstract: An end member or "patch end" of a supermarket food display case includes a pair of substantially parallel panels and an insert extending around the periphery of the panels that interconnects the panels. A foamed insulation material is installed in the cavity defined by the insert and the panels. A decorative strip covers the insert and is releasably attached to the insert so that the decorative strip can be installed, removed, and replaced as necessary to conform to different color schemes.

  • Patent number: 4088466
Abstract: The air conditioning unit has a refrigerant evaporator diagonally disposed within the air conditioning cabinet and includes a condensate drain trough at the opposite edges of the evaporator adjacent the front and rear wall of the cabinet, a drain pan assembly extending along the rear wall of the cabinet, and a detachable drip tray which is located in one position on the upstream face side of the evaporator when the cabinet is in a vertical disposition and is located on the upstream face of the evaporator in another position to feed condensate to the other drain trough when the cabinet is in one of its horizontal dispositions, the relationship between the two drain troughs, drain pan and drip tray accommodating the installation of the cabinet in a vertical disposition, and alternatively in a horizontal disposition with either the front or the rear face of the cabinet on top.
