  • Patent number: 5311989
Abstract: The plastic blister of the package has a lip which is bonded to a stiff backing card to define a space for retaining one or more batteries. Portions of the blister overlie the positive and negative terminals of the batteries to prevent the rotation of the battery within the package. The portions overlying the negative terminal have protrusions which extend inward toward the negative terminal battery. The protrusions are formed so as to engage more tightly battery features of larger size, or to come into greater contact with certain batteries. These "progressive retention" features ensure rotation-preventive engagement with the positive contact nubbins. Thus, batteries of slightly differing size or end configuration will be retained by one or more retention features, as the size and configuration of the battery packaged within the blister is varied. Similarly, the portions of the blister engaging the positive end resiliently engage the negative terminal of the battery.

  • Patent number: 4453657
Abstract: A dispensing package (10) adapted to be mounted on a tubular roll (12) of sheet material (13) to be dispensed therefrom, the roll (12) having ends (16) and a hollow core (18). The dispensing package (10) includes a unitary, molded plastic body (20) selected to be substantially as long as the roll (12) and having upper and under surfaces (22, 24). The under surface (24) includes an arcuate contact surface (26) adapted to slidingly engage a portion of the circumference of the roll (12). The contact surface (26) extends to first and second side edges (28, 30), at least one of which is a cutting edge (32) extending generally parallel to the axis of a roll (12) engaged in the dispensing package (10). Opposed body ends (40) extend generally radially over the ends of the roll (12), and a roll retainer (42) extends from each body end (40) toward the opposed body end (40 ). The roll retainers (42) are adapted to extend into the hollow core (18) of a roll (12) to retain it within the body (20).

  • Patent number: 4199058
Abstract: A package comprising a molded plastic base with an upstanding peripheral section and a transparent cover having a skirt which telescopes the peripheral section and is secured to the latter to enclose an article to be packaged. A tab is molded integrally with the base at one edge of the peripheral section and is connected to the base by a fold line so that the tab may either project from the base for use in hanging the package or be folded under the base to permit a plurality of packages to be stacked one on top of the other. A sheet with identifying indicia extends across the fold line and has a portion secured to the tab and a portion secured to the adjacent side of the peripheral section so that the article may be identified whether the package is hung or stacked.
