  • Publication number: 20230338955
Abstract: Microdevices and methods provide for separating cells of a single type from a mixed biological sample containing multiple types of cells. A single microdevice may be configured to allow for separating out cells into multiple groupings, each grouping containing cells of only one cell type. Transfer of separated cells off the microdevice is performed by physical separation of part of the microdevice from a remainder of the microdevice. This step advantageously minimizes accidental cell losses in the transfer. Subsequent analysis may then be performed using non-microfluidic equipment and techniques.

  • Patent number: 4094081
Abstract: A beach shoe or sandal for walking on sandy or porous surfaces, comprising a flat sole surface in the general shape of the user's foot, which has a projecting, peripheral wall, formed perpendicular to the sole surface that terminates in a flat rim for contact with the sand. The projecting wall defines a cavity in the bottom surface of the sole, so that the sand becomes compacted when walked upon by the user. Suitable straps are secured to the top of the sole surface, for coupling to the user's foot.

  • Patent number: 3948550
Abstract: A latch for use with a door knob lock for contact with a corresponding opening formed in a door jamb consisting of a bolt having a beveled surface along its closing edge and including a slot defined by a first side wall substantially perpendicular to the axis of the bolt and formed adjacent to the edge of the door, a second spaced-apart wall formed within the bolt and within the door jamb recess and a base surface interconnecting the two walls together. The intersection between the second wall and the base surface preferably defines a notch having an acute angle. The base surface is preferably inclined with respect to the axis of the bolt so that its intersection with the first wall forms an acute angle. The slot formed in the bolt is capable of catching any flat instrument which is inserted between the door and the door jamb to prevent unauthorized entry.
