  • Patent number: 11136696
Abstract: A novel process is disclosed for extruding an absorbable glycolide/lactide block copolymer into multifilament suture fibers. The block copolymer preferably consists of about 50/50 mole % of Glycolide/Lactide in the center segment and the overall composition of the copolymer is about 90/10 mole % Glycolide/Lactide. The novel extrusion process comprises the steps of maintaining the temperatures of at least two, preferably three or more, of the extrusion zones in the range of about 5-50° C. below the polymer melting point. The multifilament suture made with the invention process from the segmented, glycolide-rich, poly(glycolide-co-lactide) copolymers of A-B-A type, where the B-segment is an amorphous prepolymer of glycolide and lactide in the molar ratio of about 50/50 glycolide/lactide, exhibit exceptionally high breaking strength retention (BSR) at 42 days post-implantation.

  • Publication number: 20210299557
Abstract: A game-streaming service of a service provider network is configured to assign virtual machine (VM) instances to game streaming requests using a value-based approach. In order to assign a VM instance to a game streaming request for streaming a game to a client device of a player associated with the game streaming request, the game-streaming service may determine one or more attributes of the game streaming request, such as player attributes and/or game attributes. The game-streaming service may also determine available VM instances allocated to a subscriber associated with the game streaming request, which may be located across disparate geographical regions. A value(s) may be determined based on the attributes of the game streaming request, and the value(s) may be used to select one of the available VM instances for streaming the game as part of a corresponding game session.

  • Publication number: 20210298535
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a disposable cutting board assembly. The assembly includes a homogenous sheet of cut-resistant paper material having an inner cutting area. A plurality of peripheral outer borders and a plurality of corners extend from said inner cutting area to an endless exterior edge. The inner cutting area, said outer borders and said corners each have a top surface and a bottom surface. A coating of plastic is disposed on said top surface of said inner cutting area, said outer borders and said corners of said homogeneous sheet of paper material. The coating of plastic provides a sterile durable surface to prevent liquid absorption into said sheet of paper material and reduces cross contamination. An embossed pattern is within said inner cutting area. The embossed pattern includes plurality of embossed lines that intersect to form a plurality of repeating geometric shapes. Each of the plurality of repeating geometric shapes include at least one acute angle.

  • Patent number: 11107222
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for automating tracking of annotated objects and improves the throughput and efficiency of existing methods while maintaining a degree of accuracy comparable to a human annotator. In particular, the disclosed technique provides an automated annotated object tracking tool that allows machine-learning teams to annotate an object within a frame and have that annotation persist across frames as the annotated object is tracked within a series of frames, still ensuring that every frame is accurately reviewed by a human where high quality annotation is required. This technique incorporates human feedback via a user adjustment that allows the tool to adapt and improve its accuracy in tracking an annotated object across a sequence of frames.

  • Patent number: 11031905
Abstract: Intelligent safety disconnect switching methods and arrangements for PhotoVoltaic (PV) panels are disclosed. A switching device that is connected between a PV panel and a PV panel string detects a low current condition or an arc fault condition in the PV panel string. The switching device is automatically controlled to disconnect the PV panel from the PV panel string responsive to detection of the low current condition or the arc fault condition. Switching device control could also be responsive to a disconnect command. For example, such a command could be generated by a grid sensor responsive to determining that an inverter, to which the PV panel string is connected, is not connected to an electrical grid.
