  • Publication number: 20100162540
Abstract: A flexible material type clutch for engagement with a pin-supported article of jewelry or decorative article, wherein the flexible material is at least partially enclosed by a metallic frame. A medially disposed portion of said frame engages a first end of the flexible material, and includes wings which form opposed handles for gripping the retainer. In one embodiment, the flexible material is of frustoconical configuration to provide a camming surface enabling disengagement of the retainer from the frame for replacement thereof. In another embodiment, retainer is of cylindrical configuration, and is maintained against relative axial displacement relative to the frame by inwardly extending tabs on the wings of the frame. The retainer is replaced by lateral movement as in the first mentioned embodiment.

  • Publication number: 20050268651
Abstract: Hands-free jewelry is provided. To adorn the jewelry pressure is applied to the center of the opened jewelry, causing the jewelry to close around a wrist or finger. The clasp comprises a tab and slot arrangement such that when the tab is inserted into the slot, it locks into place, securely holding the jewelry in a closed configuration. To open the jewelry, a button is provided that, when pushed against a surface, disengages the clasp and opens the jewelry for removal.

  • Publication number: 20050097715
Abstract: An ear-nut or jewelry clasp for gripping a post extending from the back of an earring or other piece of jewelry or ornament. The clasp has an added pair of gripping tabs which are preferably longer and/or wider or otherwise distinctive from the friction fingers which secure the post of the earring. These added gripping tabs facilitate gripping by the user when removing the clasp from the post. To further facilitate the gripping of these tabs, a metal separator in a round shape (or any open-shape that allows it to clear the post with room to spare, such as in the shape of an animal, an oval, a rectangle, square, sphere, or star, etc.) is affixed between the tabs to prevent them from being squeezed together by the pressure of the user's fingers.
