  • Publication number: 20260108826
Abstract: Systems and methods herein provide for Rare Earth Element Extraction and Recycling (REEER). One system extracts and recovers rare earth elements (REEs) from magnet-containing feedstock using a leaching reactor, an oxidizing gas, and a carbonate-based leaching solution. The leaching reactor selectively dissolves non-rare-earth constituents and produce a leachate comprising dissolved species and solid rare earth residues. The system also comprises a solid-liquid separation subsystem to separate solid residues from the leachate, and a precipitation subsystem to precipitate rare earth carbonate solids. The system also comprises a filtration and washing subsystem to recover and purify the rare earth carbonate solids, a regeneration subsystem to react the solution with carbon dioxide to reform the carbonate leaching agent for reuse.

  • Publication number: 20120084093
Abstract: Methods of allocating raters to assessment visits of studies, and tangible computer readable media including software that is adapted to control a computer to implement methods of allocating raters to assessment visits of studies, are provided. Raters are allocated by retrieving blinding information that includes at least one blinding criterion for a visit of a study, retrieving rater information for at least one rater associated with the study, comparing the retrieved rater information and the retrieved blinding information to identify one or more raters meeting the at least one blinding criterion and enabling selection of the identified one or more raters for allocation to the visit of the study. A rater may then be allocated to the visit by receiving a selection for at least one of the identified raters and allocating the at least one rater to the visit responsive to the received selection.

  • Publication number: 20070118843
Abstract: A timeout helper main thread is created for an outbound call associated with a container. The main thread creates a timeout helper worker thread. A local timer is started to detect a first timeout condition based on a first timeout interval. The worker thread initiates a client Object Request Broker (ORB) to detect a second timeout condition based on a second timeout interval. If the outbound call completes within the first timeout interval, a result object is returned from the main thread. Otherwise, the main thread throws a timeout exception. If the outbound call has not completed within the second timeout interval, the client ORB throws an exception to the worker thread and one or more resources associated with the outbound call are reclaimed. As an alternative to the client ORB, an HTTP client can detect the second timeout condition.
