Abstract: A portable vehicle ladder system employs a hinged ladder with a slideable extension having moveable rungs to adjustably vary the length of the ladder. The ladder's hinges allow it to be used as a straight ladder or in a plurality of configurations, including as a table support. The ladder is removeably secured to the vehicle by an upper ladder support bracket mounted on the vehicle on which the ladder is placed. Also mounted on the vehicle is a lower ladder connection system, in which handle controlled latches secure the lower end of the ladder and permit the ladder to be unlatched and removed from the vehicle when it is to be used independently of the vehicle. The system can also be installed onto vehicles with existing, permanently mounted ladders.
