  • Publication number: 20150379109
Abstract: A method of facilitating location of a data item describing, for example, a product or service that is the subject of on-line auction, commences with the presentation of a category navigation interface. The category navigation interface allows a user to navigate a “virtual” hierarchy of categories and to select a target virtual category of the virtual hierarchy. The target virtual category is then identified as being linked to an actual category, within an actual hierarchy of categories. Database items are classified only in terms of the real hierarchy of categories, and not the virtual hierarchy of categories. Having then identified an actual category to which the virtual category is mapped, data items of the real category are identified responsive to the user selection of the virtual category of the virtual hierarchy of categories.

  • Patent number: 9141652
Abstract: Systems and a method for categorizing items in both actual and virtual categories are described. The method receives a selection that identifies a parent category and a first category based on the parent category. The method further identifies the plurality of data items based on a link from the first category to a second category. The data items are not user-classifiable under the first category and are user-classified under the second category. The method finally communicates a user interface, over a network, that includes the plurality of data items.

  • Patent number: 8549039
Abstract: Systems and a method are described. The method includes identifying and presenting a plurality of data items comprised of receiving a selection that identifies a parent category; identifying a first plurality of categories based on the parent category, the first plurality of categories including a first category, the plurality of data items not being user-classifiable under the first plurality of categories; identifying the plurality of data items based on a link from the first category to a second category, the second category being included in a second plurality of categories that are respectively associated with the first plurality of categories, the plurality of data items being user-classified under the second category; and communicating, over a network, a user interface response to the receiving the selection, the user interface including the plurality of data items.

  • Publication number: 20090204580
Abstract: A computerized method and system for obscuring adult advertisements are provided. Example embodiments may include receiving a search criterion and locating multiple data items using the search criterion. The method may include determining that a subset of the multiple data items has determinable characteristics. The multiple data items may be presented to a user such that each data item of the subset of the multiple data items is uniquely presented and the content of each data item is at least partially concealed.
