  • Patent number: 11632789
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide wireless communication devices and methods configured to operate with multiple active connections. A user equipment establishes a first active connection associated with a first subscription. The user equipment also establishes a second active connection, simultaneous to the first active connection, associated with a second subscription. The user equipment provides modem information corresponding to connection qualities of the first active connection and second active connection, to an operating system of the user equipment. Furthermore, the user equipment mitigates contention between the first active connection and second active connection by degrading at least one of the first active connection or second active connection in accordance with a decision given by the operating system based on the modem information.

  • Publication number: 20210167891
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for encoding and decoding are described. To encode a vector, an encoder allocates information bits of the vector to channel instances of a channel that are separated into groups. The groups may vary in size and allocation of the information bits is based on a base sequence of a given length. During decoding, a decoder assigns different bit types to channels instances by dividing a codeword into a plurality of groups and assigning bit types to channel instances of the plurality of groups using the base sequence.

  • Patent number: 10999039
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration that indicates a first sub-slot periodicity for downlink semi-persistent scheduling (SPS). The UE may receive a plurality of transmissions according to the first sub-slot periodicity in a first slot, wherein the first sub-slot periodicity enables receiving the plurality of transmissions within a single slot. The UE may transmit hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information in a second slot, wherein the second slot includes a plurality of physical uplink control channels (PUCCHs) with a second sub-slot periodicity, and wherein the HARQ-ACK information is associated with the plurality of transmissions. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Publication number: 20200314791
Abstract: A reference signal periodically transmitted by a base station in a wireless network can have certain proprietary properties to help prevent detection and utilization of the signal for unauthorized positioning of mobile devices. More specifically, a network node can obscure and introduce time-variation in mapping between positioning signals and a corresponding physical base stations. The network node may also introduce time variations in fields of a base station almanac (BSA) provided to subscribing user equipments (UEs). The information transmitted to the subscribing UEs may be encrypted.

  • Patent number: 9832673
Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes measuring, by a first device, a condition of a wireless channel; and generating at least one channel side information feedback message based on the measured condition of the wireless channel. The at least one channel side information feedback message provides information on a relationship of a set of parameters, including a data rate parameter, an error probability parameter, and at least one of a deadline parameter or a transmission link parameter. A second method includes measuring, by a first device, interference on a wireless channel; identifying an interfering device for the wireless channel based on the measurement; and generating a channel side information feedback message based on the measured interference on the wireless channel. • Patent number: 9420606
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer software are disclosed for communicating within a wireless communication network including a scheduling entity configured for full duplex communication, and user equipment (UE) configured for half duplex communication. In some examples, one or more UEs may be configured for limited (quasi-) full duplex communication. • Patent number: 9370019
Abstract: A base station in a cellular wireless communications system uses one or more control algorithms to control a transmission pattern of a 1×RTT or DO discovery beacon. The transmission pattern enables access terminals using any one of multiple wake-up periods and wake-up offsets to discover all macrocell frequencies in a finite amount of time. In addition, for base stations allocating a single transmit chain to both 1×RTT and DO beacons, the transmission pattern enables a definite maximum discovery time for both 1×RTT and DO beacons for all access terminals entering the base station coverage.

  • Publication number: 20160007228
Abstract: Rate control is provided for communicating within a wireless communication network. In some examples, redundant packet information transmitted over separate links, each link having its own independent rate control loop, can result in improvement in packet reliability with fast convergence to a desired error level. In other examples, artificial degradation of a received data stream can be utilized to improve packet reliability, also with fast convergence to the desired error level.

  • Publication number: 20070093261
Abstract: A system and method for Interference Cancellation (IC). One aspect relates to iterative interference cancellation with iterative finger delay adaptation. The interference cancellation method comprises receiving multi-paths of a signal; and performing iterative interference cancellation to remove multi-path interference, wherein the performing iterative IC comprises estimating a Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) at each of a plurality of pre-determined rake receiver finger delays, and performing successive Channel Estimation (CE) and IC on rake receiver fingers according to their estimated SINRs, and wherein the CE of a next finger does not start until interference of a previous finger is removed from a sample buffer. The method may further comprise improving estimated rake receiver finger delay, and each iteration decreases the amount of interference observed by each finger.
