  • Patent number: 11440633
Abstract: An electrically-powered unmanned marine vehicle and method of making same, including providing a hull of the marine vehicle and mounting a submersible electric thruster to the hull via a mounting interface of the thruster. The thruster includes a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. The rotor assembly forms an internal cavity with a plurality of magnets arranged radially outwardly of the internal cavity. The stator assembly includes electrical windings that are disposed within the internal cavity of the rotor assembly. The thruster is configured to allow the internal cavity to be flooded with water when the thruster is submerged, and the electrical windings are encapsulated with a protective barrier that prevents the flooded water from contacting the windings. The thruster of the marine vehicle is thus water cooled, and the electromotive forces provided by the windings generate sufficient thrust to propel the marine vehicle through the water.

  • Publication number: 20180229825
Abstract: A submersible electric thruster operable to propel underwater vehicles, surface vehicles, amphibious vehicles, etc. The submersible electric thruster includes a stator assembly having a base, stator, windings, and bearings and an external rotor assembly having a cylindrical arrangement of permanent magnets with a hub that is secured to a shaft. The stator forms the center of the motor and the permanent magnets spin around the stator. A propeller hub is integrally connected to the rotor assembly with angularly spaced propeller blades extending radially from the propeller hub. An annular nozzle surrounds the propeller and motor, forming an inlet and outlet for water flow. A nose cone is connected to the stator assembly and a tail cone is integrally connected to the nozzle assembly. Supporting arms may extend from the stator assembly to support the nozzle and/or supporting arms may extend from the nozzle to the support the tail cone.

  • Patent number: 7458782
Abstract: A computer monitoring system for controlling the operation of a sump pump, and reporting failure of the sump pump. The computer monitoring system includes a sump pump designed for pumping water out of a sump pit, a level sensing assembly positioned within the sump pit for detecting a level of water in the sump pit, and a control interface program operationally interacting with the conventional information handling system and operationally coupled to the sump pump and the level sensing assembly through the conventional information handling system for activating the sump pump when the level sensing assembly signals that water in the sump pit has reached a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 7309216
Abstract: A pump control and management system for monitoring and controlling sump pumps as well as providing supplemental controls and alarms. The pump control and management system includes a sump pump, a level sensing assembly, a control assembly, and at least one local sensor. The sump pump is designed for pumping water out of a sump pit. The level sensing assembly is preferably positioned within the sump pit for detecting a level of water in the sump pit. The control assembly is electrically coupled between an electrical service connection and the sump pump. The control assembly monitors electrical current drawn by the sump pump. The control assembly is also operationally coupled to the level sensing assembly. The control assembly activates the sump pump when the level sensing assembly signals that water in the sump pit has reached a predetermined level.
