  • Publication number: 20090050767
Abstract: A cup holder sleeve is provided with a hanger for suspending a sleeve and cup combination from objects (e.g. shopping carts). The sleeve includes a body and a hanger connected to the body. The hanger is deformable to define a hook. The sleeve is expandable to receive the cup and collapsible to a substantially flat configuration for storage. When the body is flat, the sleeve is substantially co-planer. The hanger may be made using an elongate hanger element, such as a deformable strip of aluminium, extending from an upper edge of the body. Preferably, the elongate hanger element is covered in a same material (e.g. paper, foam) used for the body. The body is composed of a material strip material fastened at overlapping ends to define an annular shape. Preferably, the hanger extends from the body at the overlapping ends and may be fastened to the body between the overlapping ends.

  • Publication number: 20070168368
Abstract: Improved methods of genealogical research utilize databases with fields that more uniquely identify individuals and relationships for the purpose of tracing and identifying ancestors or living relations. In selected embodiments, the fields represent genetic markers on the mitochondrial DNA and biographic or historical data useful in tracing matriarchal heritage. In other embodiments, the fields represent ownership records or conveyances of property between related or unrelated individuals. In other aspects of the invention methods of searching account for the evolution of geographic and political divisions in searching genealogical database, as well as the alternative spelling of names and nickname.

  • Publication number: 20060126595
Abstract: A method and system for establishing a call between two endpoints residing on different media gateways in a decomposed voice over packet architecture. Cluster attributes identifying alternate bearer possibilities are exchanged between media gateways as part of capabilities negotiation which occurs during call setup conducted by an external call control element over a core network. The media gateways analyze the cluster attributes to determine whether bearer possibilities exist apart from the core network. If an alternate bearer possibility exists, the alternate is employed and the call is established via the alternate bearer directly between the media gateways, thus bypassing the core network.

  • Publication number: 20060075126
Abstract: A device and method for fast switchover and recovery of a media gateway. A network interface of a router is monitored for a network interface failure, in which the router receives data over a network using a network protocol. In response to detecting a network interface failure, the network interface failure is translated into a gateway protocol understood by the media gateway. The network interface failure is transmitted to the media gateway using the gateway protocol over a primary path, providing for fast switchover time to a redundant path by the media gateway.

  • Patent number: 6988083
Abstract: A method for transacting exchanges of agricultural products involves observing the price of an agricultural product at observation points over a period of time. In one embodiment, a maximum price is specified. For each of the observation points, the maximum price is selected when the observed price is greater than the maximum price, and the observed price is selected when the observed price is less than the maximum price. A price is calculated for a quantity of the agricultural product based on the average of the selected prices and a premium. Individual contracts can be aggregated to reach more acceptable trading quantities and intervals, enabling participation of a derivative hedging products service provider and intermediate parties such as elevators and elevator services companies. Aggregation can be carried out manually or automatically, and configured to support anonymity of various parties in the transaction chain.

  • Patent number: 6950806
Abstract: A method for transacting transfers of commodities involves observing the price of a commodity at several observation points over a period of time. In one embodiment, a maximum price is specified. For each observation point, the maximum price is selected in the event the observed price is greater than the maximum price, or the observed price is selected in the event the observed price is less than the maximum price. The price for a quantity of the commodity then is calculated based on the average of the selected prices and a premium. Individual contracts can be aggregated to reach more acceptable trading quantities and intervals, enabling participation of a derivative hedging products service provider and intermediate parties such as resellers and reseller services companies. Aggregation can be carried out manually or automatically, and configured to support anonymity of various parties in the transaction chain.
