  • Publication number: 20240115926
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for fastening components of equipment, for example, a skateboard or a roller skate, among other types of sporting boards, sports apparatuses, or wheeled sporting apparatuses. Fastening systems disclosed herein may be utilized to couple a skateboard truck to a skateboard deck. The fastening systems may add a high level of stability and durability to the coupling or the anchoring of, e.g., a kingpin to a baseplate on the skateboard truck. For example, the high level of stability and durability to the coupling or the anchoring may be achieved via a sleeve (e.g., a flanged sleeve) that is formed of high-strength material and press-fit into an aperture on the skateboard truck baseplate.

  • Publication number: 20240066383
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for fastening components of equipment, specifically a skateboard, among other types of sporting boards or sports apparatuses or wheeled sporting apparatuses. Fastening systems disclosed herein may be utilized to couple a deck of a skateboard to a truck of a skateboard. The fastening systems may reduce the need for a tool (e.g., a hex drive or other tool) that might typically be utilized to engage a head of a fastener to hold the fastener in place while a securement body (e.g., a nut) is coupled to the fastener.

Abstract: A drilling assembly for downhole to surface communications is provided. The drilling assembly includes a series of pipe segments coupled in fluid communication between a slip ring assembly and an end pipe portion. The slip ring assembly is coupled in data and fluid communication with the pipe segments. A surface communications link is in data communication with the drilling assembly via the slip ring assembly. An end pipe portion is coupled with the drilling assembly that includes an electronics assembly with electronic components for transferring data to the slip ring assembly via the drilling assembly. A drill bit is operably coupled with the end pipe portion for drilling a borehole. Each pipe segment includes an outer conductor portion, a hollow inner conductor portion, and a dielectric portion for electrical isolation between the outer conductor portion and the inner conductor portion.

  • Publication number: 20210402322
Abstract: The present invention relates to the distillation and crystallization of feed water. In particular, the present invention relates to the distillation and crystallization of industrial wastewater or saline or brackish water. The present invention relates to both an apparatus and method for carrying out the distillation. In an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a distillation apparatus comprising: (a) an crystalliser for evaporating a feed water to produce water vapour; (b) adsorption means in vapour communication with the crystalliser for reversibly adsorbing the water vapour from the crystalliser; and (c) desorbing means for desorbing the adsorbed water vapour from the adsorption means, wherein the crystalliser evaporates the feed water under pressure that is substantially lower than atmospheric pressure to form a concentrated solution or slurry comprising crystallised solids.

  • Patent number: 10157473
Abstract: An mechanism for range estimation mapping that includes creation of a world map on an azimuth/elevation (AZ/EL) grid, relation of the grid to an earth-fixed north, east, and down (NED) coordinate system through an address table, and association of each pixel in each frame, by a programmable device, with an entry from the address table in order to determine a range is discussed. The associations may be repeated for each frame while an updated world map and address table are generated. When an updated address table is complete, the process may begin anew using the updated data.

  • Patent number: 7171062
Abstract: A fingerprint identification apparatus comprises a contact image sensor (CIS) module, a keyswitch and a restoring unit. The keyswitch has a transparent plate for finger-tactility. The user put his finger on the transparent plate to move the transparent plate such that the keyswitch has relative movement with respect to the CIS module and the CIS module scans the fingerprint of user for fingerprint identification. The restoring unit is arranged on the keyswitch and provides restoring force to the keyswitch.

  • Patent number: 7058422
Abstract: A system is provided for increasing the number of users capable of communicating over a wireless network to permit multiple users to transmit information simultaneously on the same channel or frequency in which a Viterbi decoder-based signal separation system is used to pull apart or uncorrupt the otherwise interfering signals on the channel. In one embodiment, two users are assigned to the same channel, with a joint parameter estimation pre-processor being utilized to provide an estimation of the power, time and frequency offsets and phase of the incoming signals. The joint parameters estimated by the parameter estimation unit are applied to a signal separator which recovers and pulls apart the two signals.
