  • Patent number: 9125707
Abstract: According to a first configuration, a hand tool is configured to include a shaft, a handle disposed at a proximal end of the shaft, and a tubular tip disposed on a hinge at a distal end of the shaft. The tubular tip pivots about the hinge, providing a way to steer a resource to a specific location in a medical site. In accordance with a second configuration, a hand tool includes a flexible section of tube, a flexible sheathing, and a link. The flexible sheathing encases the flexible section of tube. At least a portion of the link resides between an outer surface of the flexible section of tube and an inner surface of the flexible sheathing. One end of the link is affixed to a distal tip of the flexible section of tube. Pulling on the link causes the flexible section of tube to arc.

  • Publication number: 20150161041
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for increasing the operational lifetime of a flash memory device, wherein, the method comprises varying the operating parameters of the flash memory device over the lifetime of the flash memory device. The advantage of providing a method which varies the operating parameters of a flash memory device is that the operational lifetime of the flash memory device will be increased. Relatively low voltages and relatively short voltage periods may be used initially to write to, read from and erase the flash cells in the flash memory device. As time passes, the flash cells in the flash memory device will begin to degrade and it will be necessary to increase the voltage and the period of the voltage applied to the flash memory device in order to ensure that the correct write, read and/or erase commands are carried out. The invention is also directed towards a flash memory device.

  • Publication number: 20150155706
Abstract: A surge suppression system provides surge protection both locally within the radio station building were the power plant and telecommunication equipment are located and remotely next to the radios and antennas located outside of the building on the communication tower. An external surge suppression unit provides a waterproof enclosure for both surge suppression devices and fiber optic connectors. A rack mountable surge suppression unit provides local in-line surge suppression protection for the electrical equipment located in the communication station. A unique surge suppression tray is hot swappable so that multiple surge suppression devices can be replaced at the same time without disrupting radio operation. Pluggable surge suppression modules can be used in both the external surge suppression unit and the rack mountable surge suppression unit.

  • Publication number: 20140376641
Abstract: A video decoder obtains a first set of picture buffering parameters associated with a current picture of an encoded video bitstream. The first set of picture buffering parameters identifies a set of one or more reference pictures for use in decoding the current picture by a graphics processor. The video decoder revises the first set of picture buffering parameters into a second (different) set of picture buffering parameters for use in decoding the current picture by the graphics processor. The second set of picture buffering parameters is transferred to the graphics processor for decoding the current picture.

  • Publication number: 20140100669
Abstract: Flexible graphic element objects in a process plant are configurable both in a run-time operating environment in which a process is being controlled and in a configuration environment. An instantiated flexible graphic element object may be a display view or may be another graphic element included on a display view. A graphic element object may be linked to and/or derived from another graphic element object, and changes to a particular graphic element object may be propagated to its derivations, e.g., according to a distribution policy. Changes to definitions corresponding to a particular graphic element object (e.g., to the definition of a graphic element attribute such as a shape, animation, event handler or property) may be overridden or modified in another object derived from the particular graphic element object. The modified derived object may be renamed and saved separately from the particular graphic element object.

  • Publication number: 20130218218
Abstract: When a defibrillator selects a dosage of energy or current to be delivered to a patient, the defibrillator selects an excitation current frequency and applies the excitation current at the selected frequency to the patient. The frequency of the excitation current is selected as a function of the dosage to be delivered. The patient's response to the excitation current at the selected frequency will accurately reflect the impedance that the defibrillator will “see” when delivering the selected dosage of energy or current.
