  • Patent number: 9578258
Abstract: The system provides a method and apparatus for constructing, and for dynamically rearranging the order of content in a composite video. The re-ordering of clips in the composite video can be based on one or more weighting factors associated with each clip. These factors can include freshness or newness of the clip, popularity based on the number of “likes” of a clip by others, the content of the clip (e.g. celebrity creator or presence), paid boosting (e.g. for commercial concerns); and other factors. Each clip has associated metadata that can be used to assign a weight value to the clip for purposes of reordering the composite video.

    Assignee: V-POLL, INC.
Inventors: Stephen John Emery, Andrew Jay Sachs, Joseph Sumner, David King Lassman
  • Patent number: 9223781
Abstract: The system provides for the automatic editing of a video comprised of a plurality of content segments. When two or more content clips are available at a particular moment in time, the system will automatically choose at least a portion of one of the clips pursuant to preference metrics determined by a user. The system contemplates the ability of the user to define specific metrics to control the editing, including frequency of edits, content of content clip, level of activity, and the like. In another embodiment, the system has a plurality of pre-defined editing modes that define various metrics for use in the automatic editing system, including guaranteed participation, speaker-centric, quality of clip, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20140086562
Abstract: The present system provides a method for a group of people, related or otherwise, to record an event on separate recording devices. The video from those recording devices can then be synchronized with each other. After synchronization, a composite movie is automatically generated using extracts from all or some of the video recordings. The composite movie is returned to a mobile device from where it can be shared and broadcast or re-edited inside the device.
