Abstract: The energy density as shown by improved cell life of power cells having consummable alkaline or alkaline earth anodes such as lithium, a carbonaceous current collector and a liquid active cathode depolarizer is enhanced by adding to said current collector one or more of the following: platinum, titanium, niobium, tantalum, antimony, vanadium, indium, tin, nickel, gold, zinc, tungsten, molybdenum, silver, paladium, manganese, colbalt, yttrium, and cadmium.
