  • Publication number: 20240165848
Abstract: A process for forming a fluidic module (150) with integrated fluid separation includes positioning a first positive passage mold (115A) of a first fluid passage (170) having a tortuous shape within a volume of binder-coated ceramic powder (110A) and positioning a second positive passage mold (115B) of a second fluid passage (175) having a tortuous shape within the volume of ceramic powder (110A) and spaced apart from the first positive passage mold (115A). The process further includes positioning a powder interconnect (120) adjacent to a portion of each of the first (115A) and second positive passage molds (115B) within the volume of ceramic powder (110A), pressing the volume of ceramic powder (110A, HOB) with the first and second positive passage molds (115A, 115B) and the powder interconnect (120) inside to form a pressed body (148), heating the pressed body to remove the first and second positive passage molds (115A, 115B), and sintering the pressed body (148) to form a closed-porosity ceramic body (150).

  • Publication number: 20240115781
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses for blood oxygenation are disclosed. A system includes a first layer defining a plurality of banks of first channels each extending in a first direction. The plurality of banks of first channels are configured to receive blood via a trunk channel. The system includes a second layer defining a bank of second channels extending in a second direction. The bank of second channels are configured to receive oxygen. The first direction is different from the second direction. The system includes a membrane disposed between the first layer and the second layer and configured to cause the oxygen to permeate from the second layer to the first layer to oxygenate the blood.

  • Patent number: 11935545
Abstract: A back-end server system for step-up authentication for conversational interfaces using spoken passphrases receive a conversational request for an action which requires step-up authorization; respond to the user through conversational artificial intelligence (AI) warning the user that an additional step is required; transmit, over a dedicated communication channel to the user and different than the conversational interface, a secret passphrase generated using a spoken passphrase dictionary; receive, by the conversational interface, a spoken submission from the user in response to the warning; confirm validity of the received spoken submission by comparing the spoken submission to the passphrase; and in response to confirmation of the spoken submission, authorize the requested action.

  • Patent number: 11485649
Abstract: A method and system is provided for reducing produced water disposal volumes utilizing waste heat generated by thermal oxidation. Waste heat generated by thermal oxidation can be used to vapourize excess water, and to treat and scrub the water vapour for final release into the atmosphere. The system can utilize excess heat remaining after thermal oxidation to produce water vapour.

  • Publication number: 20220170633
Abstract: An incinerator comprising a cylindrical housing and a plurality of burners is provided. Each burner is oriented to emit gas at an upward and radially inward angle such that the burners collectively generate an upward, helical gas flow. A method for incinerating gas in a cylindrical housing is provided. Flowing gas through a first burner, oriented at an angle, generates an upward, helical gas flow within the cylindrical housing and draws a gas flow through a second burner.

  • Publication number: 20060153241
Abstract: Various aspects of apparatuses and methods for enabling a subscriber premise network interface device (NID) to facilitate communication services including digitally derived voice services to be facilitated between a central office and a subscriber premise are disclosed herein. In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosures herein, such a method includes facilitating a downstream DSL voice channel transmission process at a subscriber premise Network Interface Device (NID) and facilitating an upstream DSL voice channel transmission process at the subscriber premise NID. The downstream DSL voice channel transmission process facilitates converting a voice component of a downstream DSL data stream to a corresponding downstream analog voice signal. The upstream DSL voice channel transmission process facilitates converting an upstream analog voice signal to an upstream voice component of an upstream DSL data stream.
