  • Publication number: 20250143825
Abstract: An end effector for use with a robotic system includes a proximal hub having a first upright support opposing a second upright support, a distal hub having a first upright support and a second upright support and pivotally coupled to the proximal hub about a first pivot axis, a first jaw member, a second jaw member, a first idler pulley, and a second idler pulley. The first and second jaw members are pivotally coupled to the first and second upright supports of the distal hub about a second pivot axis. First and second cable sets are configured to extend around the first and second idler pulleys and the first and second jaw members to rotate the first and second jaw members. The distal hub, the first idler pulley, and the second idler pulley are angled to produce fleet angles of about zero degrees.

  • Patent number: 12029428
Abstract: A surgical stapling system includes an adapter assembly, a trocar assembly attachable to the adapter assembly, a processor, and memory. The memory includes instructions executable by the processor to cause the trocar assembly to move relative to the adapter assembly and determine whether the trocar assembly is properly attached to the adapter assembly. Such determination is based on an amount of force applied between the trocar assembly and the adapter assembly, an amount of current detected in the surgical stapling system, or an amount of time the trocar assembly moves relative to the adapter assembly without an indication that the amount of force is within a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 11627966
Abstract: A reusable surgical device includes a housing or body that supports one or more thermal energy storage members that retain or store heat during a cleaning and sterilization process. The stored heat functions to evaporate water that remains within the body or housing of the surgical device after the cleaning and sterilization process is completed to minimize any likelihood of infection of a patient or damage to electronics within the surgical device that may result or occur due to the presence of the water within the surgical device.

  • Publication number: 20230071383
Abstract: A continuous strip of staples for use with a surgical stapling device includes an elongated stock of corrugated paper defining a plurality of channels therein. An inner facing side of each channel is configured to support a row of staples thereon and extending therealong and is configured to be slidingly received in a corresponding plurality of slots defined within a cartridge assembly of a stapling device for loading the staples therein. A plurality of indexing apertures is defined in the elongated stock and extends therealong. The plurality of indexing apertures is adapted to engage a staple deformation element of the cartridge assembly during retraction thereof to automatically reload one or more new rows of staples after actuation of the stapling device.

  • Patent number: 11517305
Abstract: A cartridge assembly includes a channel member defining a cavity, and a staple cartridge including a cartridge body. A plurality of pushers disposed within the cartridge body, such that each pusher includes a staple supporting surface that defines a first concavity and a second concavity that are separated by a central radiused convexity. Each staple of a plurality of staples is received within one retaining slot of a plurality of retaining slots. Each staple of the plurality of staples includes a back span, wherein the shape of each staple of the plurality staples corresponds to the shape of the staple supporting surface of each of the plurality of pushers. An actuation sled can be moved within the cartridge body, into sequential engagement with the plurality of pushers to urge the plurality of staples through the plurality of retaining slots.
