  • Patent number: 4584458
Abstract: A welding wire feeder system for an electric arc welder in which the wire feed motor M is powered from a pulse width modulated power supply comprising a power transistor Q10 controlled by a pulse signal on line 31 from a pulse width modulator comprising an integrated circuit A3. A control voltage proportional to the arc voltage and a feedback voltage indicative of the feed motor speed are generated and applied to respective inputs of a high gain amplifier A4-1 whose output error signal is either high or low dependent upon the relative values of the control and feedback signals. Control is effected in such a manner that an increase in welding arc voltage causes a corresponding increase in the welding wire feed rate, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4192903
Abstract: A decorative ornament construction is disclosed in which two substantially flat sheets are adapted to be interconnected so as to form a three-dimensional ornament capable of being suspended and thus useful as a Christmas tree decoration or the like. One of the sheets is centrally slotted so as to receive the other sheet in intersecting relation while the other sheet is provided with a pair of spaced seats for the support of said one sheet. Generally, the periphery of the sheets each define a similar design configuration such that the ornament presents a substantially uniform three-dimensional appearance.

  • Patent number: 4011047
Abstract: A non water cooled smelt spout for a pulp mill chemical recovery furnace. The spout is constructed from insulating and refractory material contained in a metal trough and is provided with a steam jet immediately adjacent the bottom free end of the spout. The jet impairs the formation of slag on the bottom of the trough and disintegrates the smelt stream issuing from the spout. Preferably the steam passage leading to the jet or nozzle extends along the bottom of the spout whereby the steam forming the jet also cools the bottom wall.
