  • Patent number: 8353869
Abstract: An anti-tampering apparatus and method for drug delivery devices provides for the capture of caps in a manner that restricts repositioning of a captured cap onto a corresponding drug delivery device. The anti-tampering apparatus includes one or more retention members to define a capture region for restrainably capturing a cap. The anti-tampering apparatus further locates an obstruction surface thereof to engage a surface of a drug delivery device and thereby restrict recapping of the device by the captured cap. • Patent number: 7611505
Abstract: An improved sterile docking apparatus for a medical-liquid, male connectors includes a holding member having an opening for matably receiving a nozzle end of a medical-liquid, male connector therethrough, and a film member disposed across the opening, wherein the film member is stretchable to envelope and thereby isolate a nozzle end of a medical-liquid, male connector that is inserted into the opening of the holding member. The film member may be elastic, wherein it substantially returns to an initial configuration after removal of a nozzle end of a medical-liquid, male connector from the opening of the holding member. An interconnection surface may be provided on the holding member of the docking apparatus to interface with a complimentary interconnection surface of a medical-liquid, male connector so as to maintain the nozzle end of the medical-liquid, male connector in an enveloped position during docking.

  • Patent number: 7316669
Abstract: An improved protective cap and method for capping medical male luer fittings is provided. The protective cap may include inner and intermediate annular members extending from an end wall and defining a slot therebetween. At least one and preferably a plurality of depressible members project from an outer surface of the inner annular member, wherein the depressible member(s) conforms to the internal threads of a male luer fitting upon interconnection. For such purposes, the depressible member(s) may comprise a resilient material, e.g. most preferably having a modulus of elasticity of between about 5000 psi and 20000 psi. Each depressible member may be of an arcuate configuration in cross-section to present a convex surface for depressible engagement by the collar of a male luer fitting when positioned in the annular slot. The protective cap may be readily employed in automated capping/uncapping procedures via direct linear advancement/retraction relative to a male luer fitting.
