Publication number: 20180199640Abstract: An outerwear garment includes a torso body having an inner surface and an outer surface. The torso body defines a pass-through opening extending through the inner surface and outer surface and a pocket opening extending at least through the outer surface. A pocket extends inwardly from the outer surface at the pocket opening. A waist gaiter is coupled to the inner surface. The pass through opening provides access to a space defined between the pocket and the waist gaiter.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2018Publication date: July 19, 2018Inventor: Joseph W. Patent number: 7628188Abstract: A pocket closure device for facilitating retention of and access to items placed in a pocket. Specifically, certain embodiments of the present invention comprise an elongate resilient member disposed along a pocket and attached to a front panel of the pocket and to an outer surface of a bag. The elongate resilient member acts to bias the front panel against the outer surface of the bag such that the panel may be quickly and effectively accessed in a single movement. The biased nature of the front panel of the pocket also enables quick and automatic closure of the pocket to secure pocket contents.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2006Date of Patent: December 8, 2009Assignee: Ogio International, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Pratt, Scott Kendrick Warner, Joseph W. Christensen

Publication number: 20090212174Abstract: A golf bag stand system is described wherein the legs of the stand system deploy in an arcuate path. The arcuate path permits the legs of the golf bag stand system to be widely deployed to support the golf bag while minimizing entanglement issues during deployment and retraction. The arcuate deployment keeps the legs closer to the center line of the bag during a greater period of the deployment/retraction, with the sideward/outward movement of the legs occurring at the end of leg deployment and at the beginning of leg retraction. This may be achieved by hingedly connecting the legs to the golf bag with an axis of rotation that is inclined toward the center of the golf bag. The legs of the golf bag include a bend or jog that permits the inclined axis of rotation while keeping the legs close to the golf bag when in the retracted position.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2008Publication date: August 27, 2009Inventors: Michael James Pratt, James Rocky Harris, Joseph W. Christensen, Jason Prigge, Kenneth Harris, Brandon Hefer, Aaron Brookhart

Patent number: 7543388Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a simple convenient way to mark reveal widths with excellent accuracy. In some aspects, the invention provides a tool for marking reveal widths. The tool includes a base and positioning means for contacting first and second jambs of a door or window. The tool also includes guiding means for guiding a writing instrument. The guiding means can guide the writing instrument on and generally parallel to the first jamb at a first lateral distance from where the positioning means contacts the first jamb. The guiding means can also guide the writing instrument on and generally parallel to the second jamb at a second lateral distance from where the positioning means contacts the second jamb. In this embodiment, the first lateral distance is a first reveal width and the second lateral distance is a second reveal width.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2007Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: Northern Building Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Joseph W. Christensen, Dale D. Johnson

Patent number: 7213705Abstract: The present invention features a ergonomically designed and structured golf bag top and club separator. The golf bag top and club separator comprises a perimeter support member having integrally formed tiered sections both along its longitudinal and lateral axes, a wood complex, an iron complex located opposite from and offset below the wood complex, and a plurality of strategically placed dividers therein to provide vertical disposition and segregation of wood-type golf clubs. Through its unique design, the present invention provides vertical segregation of the wood complex, thus providing optimal positioning, travel, access, and retrieval of golf clubs inserted and housed therein, as well as providing added protection of the clubs from one another. The wood complex is vertically segregated and positioned proximate or distal the body of the user.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2005Date of Patent: May 8, 2007Assignee: Ogio International, Inc.Inventors: Michael James Pratt, Joseph W. Christensen, Scott Kendrick Warner, Jeffrey Alan Sheets

Publication number: 20040256426Abstract: A substantially rigid bag carrying device for facilitating manual transport of a bag, such as a golf bag, luggage, camping equipment, backpack, and the like. The bag carrying device facilitates manual transport of a bag by providing independent support for the bag as well as enabling a user to quickly and easily implement the bag carrying device in a single motion. The support structure of the bag carrying device may be defined by a variety of shoulder supports, connecting supports, and other support structures. The bag carrying device may also incorporate one or more support straps for selectively adjusting the position of the bag relative to a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2004Publication date: December 23, 2004Inventors: Brian Sanderson, Michael J.
