  • Patent number: 6212810
Abstract: A pole system for displaying picture frames includes a pole, mounting devices for holding the pole in a vertical position, and a plurality of sliding elements movable along the length of the pole to positions selected by the user. Each sliding element includes a connector adapted to engage a sawtooth bracket, wire, hole or other structure on the back of a picture frame. A plurality of frames can be displayed from the pole, the spacing between each of them and their relative rotational position about the pole being easily and quickly changed by the user. In the most preferred embodiment, the mounting devices include brackets for suspending the pole in a spaced apart relationship from an office furniture panel, and the sliding elements are spring steel plates with a pair of openings adapted to fit over the pole when the plate is bent into a curved position.

  • Patent number: 6210512
Abstract: Molding, such as that used in the manufacture of picture frames, is laminated with a covering wrap of foil, paper, plastic, cloth, or wood veneer and is embossed on the same machine shortly thereafter. The covering wrap is adhered by an adhesive and the embossed pattern is formed in part by pressure of a pattern against the substrate and through the covering wrap and partly by forcing of the adhesive used in the laminating process into various raised portions of the pattern, thus supporting and enhancing the embossed profile.

  • Patent number: 5974714
Abstract: A picture frame is provided including a frame and a backing. The picture frame includes a plurality of side members which are coupled to each other to define a picture receiving region. Each side member has a flange and an interior wall. The flange is located at a front face of the frame and projects into the picture receiving region. The flange has a back surface which is perpendicular to the interior wall. The backing removably retains a picture in the picture receiving region. The picture frame further includes at least one flexible tab extending generally perpendicularly from the interior wall of at least one side member. The tab retains the backing in the frame and is spaced apart from the back surface of the flange by a distance at least equal to a thickness of the backing. When the backing is inserted into the frame, each tab bends towards the flange to allow the backing to pass by.
